There are three really exciting matchups on tonight’s college basketball card. We’ve got at least one player prop for each of those matchups.

Which NCAAB picks are you tailing?

Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Texas Longhorns

Tuesday, December 6, 2022 – 07:00 PM EST at Madison Square Garden

Terrence Shannon Jr. (Illinois Fighting)

  • Over 15.5 Points

Terrence Shannon Jr. has been a workhorse to begin the year for Illinois. He’s averaged 19.8 points per game while taking an average of 12.6 shots per game.

Shannon Jr. has shot 48.5% from the field and has hit nearly 29% from downtown. He’s also getting to the line 6.5 times per game and hitting 75% of his foul shots. However, when he faced a really good defense like Virginia, Terrence only had 9 points on 40 % from the field, while shooting 20% from deep. He even missed 2 free throws.

Against Texas, Shannon Jr. is going to have another really difficult defense. Texas has allowed teams to shoot just 23.2% from downtown and 42.7% from inside the arc. The Longhorns are currently the third-best defense in the nation according to KenPom. But that doesn’t phase me.

Shannon Jr. is 150th in the nation in offensive rating and is used in nearly 28% of possessions. That’s also 141st in college basketball. The volume will be there in this intriguing matchup. He’s taken at least 16 shots in his last 2 games against power-five opponents like Syracuse and Maryland. He’s also scored 29 against UCLA.

The Prop Pick

I’ll back him to score 16 points knowing his average is nearly 20. For Fighting Illini fans looking to bet on this game, you can do it at our Illinois betting sites.

Maryland Terrapins vs. Wisconsin Badgers

Tuesday, December 6, 2022 - 09:00 PM EST at Kohl Center

Tyler Wahl (Wisconsin Badgers)

  • Under 14.5 Points

Tyler Wahl has averaged 14.5 points per game thanks to impressive performances against Kansas and South Dakota. He hit 15 points in overtime against Marquette and had 17 against Wake Forest. But he’s also had games with just 3 points and 8 points in poor offensive performances.

Wisconsin isn’t a good offensive, to begin with. The Badgers have shot an effective field goal percentage of 47.6% while rarely earning offensive rebounds and also rarely getting to the foul line.

The Badgers have even shot just 41.6% from inside the arc this season. Wahl has taken just 1.8 threes per game. He’s battling inside, shooting just 40% from the field on 12.5 shots per game.

Maryland’s defense has held teams to a 43.4% effective field goal percentage with opponents shooting 26% from deep and 45.4% from inside the arc.

The Prop Pick

Following the NCAAB odds, I’ve got Wahl going Under his total Over 14.5 points. You can expect a Big Ten defensive battle tonight.

Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Duke Blue Devils

Tuesday, December 6, 2022 - 09:30 PM EST at Madison Square Garden

Kyle Filipowski (Duke Blue Devils)

  • Over 8.5 Rebounds

Kyle Filipowski has been making a name for himself with Duke this season. The freshman stands 7 feet tall and is averaging 15.2 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.

He’s coming off a 10-rebound performance against Boston College and has grabbed 15 rebounds in a game against Oregon State along with 14 against Kansas. He can battle with the top teams in the nation on the glass.

Filipowski is 157th in the nation in offensive rebounding percentage and 46th in the nation in defensive rebounding percentage.

Duke is earning 41% of offensive rebounds this season. That’s second in the nation. Many of those rebounds are Filipowski’s. Meanwhile, Iowa is allowing 31.2% of offensive rebounds. Duke should be able to dominate the glass led by Filipowski. On the other hand, Duke has only allowed 26.9% of offensive rebounds. Iowa rarely turns the ball over.

That means the Hawkeyes will get a ton of shots off. Many of those shots will be missed, allowing Duke to bring down rebounds. The more shots, the better off Filipowski will be.

The Prop Pick

Let’s back the big man to earn 9 or more rebounds plus money.

Jeremy Roach (Duke Blue Devils)

  • Under 12.5 Points

Also in this game, I’m looking at Jeremy Roach’s point total for Duke. Roach is a point guard that won’t really crash the glass.

The Blue Devils have shot an effective field goal percentage of 48.5% while shooting 30.5% from deep and 50% from inside the arc.

Roach is 355th in assist rate, but only has an offensive rating of 103.2 while being used 22% of possessions. Roach is shooting 42.6% from inside and .311 from outside while hitting only 71% of foul shots.

There’s a reason why Roach, a junior, is still in the ball club and not in the NBA. He’s coming off a six-point performance against Boston College and is averaging under 12.5 points per game in the first place.

The Prop Pick

He’s got a bad matchup against Iowa here. For Duke fans looking to bet on this game, you can do it at our top North Carolina betting sites.
