We’re eying three bets on the betting board for today’s college basketball slate. We’ll look to finish the day with profit.

We’re finally getting more D-1 games on the slate. So many teams have been playing non-D1 opponents to begin the year. But that’s starting to change heading into tonight’s slate.

Here are my top three betting picks for the day in college basketball.

Grand Canyon Antelopes vs. Nevada Wolf Pack

Saturday, November 12, 2022- 04:00 PM EST at Lawlor Events Center

We’re only a couple of games into the season, but Grand Canyon and Nevada both look like they’ll be tough outs this season.

Grand Canyon defeated Montana State, 60-54 in their home opener and knocked off a non-D1 opponent a couple of games later, 101-50. On the other hand, Nevada defeated Utah Tech, who are new to Division I this season.

How's Grand Canyon Doing?

Grand Canyon’s game against Montana State showed some flaws. The offense only hit 57.1% from the foul line and they shot just 28.6% from deep. The Antelopes didn’t get to the foul line at a high rate and also didn’t offensive rebound very well.

The Antelopes were able to limit turnovers but still shot an effective field goal percentage of 49.1.

Nevada's Advantage

Nevada is going to be one of the best teams at protecting time. They blocked 25% of shots against Utah Tech. Meanwhile, Grand Canyon watched 15.6% of their shots get blocked in their home opener.

The Wolf Pack needs to limit fouls. But they’re going to dominate defensively inside the paint.

Meanwhile, the Wolf Pack shot a 55.2% effective field goal percentage and hit 60.5% from the field inside the arc. Grand Canyon’s defense is going to be better than its offense, but Nevada should be able to win the turnover battle and earn plenty of stops inside the arc.

The Spread Pick

Let’s take Nevada in Reno.

Stonehill Skyhawks vs. Army Black Knights

Saturday, November 12, 2022 - 01:00 PM EST at Christl Arena

The Performance So Far

The Stonehill Skyhawks are new to Division I. In two games this season, they’ve allowed 85 to UConn and 102 to Quinnipiac.

Stonehill is literally one of the worst defensive teams in Division I heading into this game. They’ve allowed a 56.2% effective field goal percentage and have allowed over 45% of offensive rebounds. Teams are nailing nearly 28% from downtown against Stonehill and shooting 56% from inside the arc.

Plus, Stonehill is fouling at an abnormal rate to begin the year.

Army hasn’t played a D-1 game this season. But they score 110 in their opener against Keystone.

What Should You Expect From This Game?

Stonehill’s better than Keystone. Clearly. But Army’s offense is surely going to come into this game with confidence in their offensive game. Army dropped 56 points in the first half and stayed consistent with 54 points in the second half. Army’s got a ton of depth, and it’ll be used against the Skyhawks in today’s matchup.

Meanwhile, Stonehill’s also shooting an above-average effective field goal percentage of 52.8%. They’ve been getting to the line at a solid rate and have hit 37% from downtown while knocking down nearly 51% from inside the arc. The Skyhawks have also shot 82.9% from the foul line. So while the defense is arguably the worst in D1, the offense isn’t all that bad.

The Over/Under Pick

Give me the Over 146.5.

Wofford Terriers vs. High Point Panthers

Saturday, November 12, 2022 - 04:00 PM EST Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena

The Teams' Track Record

The Wofford Terriers defeated a non-D1 team in Bob Jones, 120-48 to begin their season. Meanwhile, the High Point Panthers dominated Pfeiffer, 111-71 in their home opener against a non-D1 team.

We don’t have stats on either team heading into this game. Neither team has played a D1 game.

High Point went 14-18 last season and finished 7-9 in Big South Conference play. It wasn’t good enough for Tubby Smith, who is no longer head coach. Instead, G.G. Smith took over, after a five-year hiatus from head caching. He never had a winning season with Loyola Maryland when he was head coach.

On the other hand, Wofford went 19-13 and 10-8 in Southern Conference play. Head coach, Jay McAuley has had a winning season every year as Wofford’s head coach.

What The Odds Say

Yet, Wofford's NCAAB odds are set at -137 on the road against High Point. I’d much rather take the consistent team over the team with a whole lot more questions coming into the year.

Wofford has become a very solid mid-major team, but High Point is currently in rebuilding mode. Things didn’t go as planned last year so now they’ve hired a new head coach.

The Moneyline Pick

Give me Wofford at -137.
