North Carolina Tar Heels vs. Alabama Crimson Tide

Sunday, November 27, 2022, 03:30 PM EST at Veterans Memorial Coliseum

Game Analysis

The North Carolina Tar Heels will take on the Alabam Crimson Tide in the Phil Knight Invitational

North Carolina just took a loss to Iowa State in its last game, while Alabama dealt with a loss to UConn. North Carolina has only shot 30.8% from downtown, and although they’ve hit 57.2% from inside the arc, Alabama is going to make it very difficult around the rim.

Tide Turning Over the Ball

This season, opponents are shooting 36.6% from inside the arc against the Crimson Tide. Alabama won’t earn a high rate of turnovers, and they’ll likely send the Tar Heels to the foul line at a high rate. On the other hand, Alabama has turned the ball over 22.5% of the time

The Tar Heels aren’t going to force many turnovers, but Alabama sometimes gets careless with the ball. Alabama has also earned 42.2% of offensive rebounds this season.

The Crimson Tide should end up with more offensive rebounds and second chances. They’ve also shot over 34% from deep and 51% from inside the arc.

The Pick

This game will come down to Alabama making their shots from deep. The Tar Heels will get their chances at the foul line and should ultimately win the turnover battle. I’ve got North Carolina squeezing out a victory against Alabama today.

Villanova Wildcats vs. Oregon Ducks

Sunday, November 27, 2022, 03:00 PM EST at Chiles Center

Game Analysis

The Oregon Ducks are going to be good this year. But they’re just not there yet. The Ducks have lost every game against top-100 opponents this year, going 0-4 in those games.

On the other hand, Villanova’s also gone 0-4 against top-107 opponents. The Wildcats have a lot of work under the new coaching staff. Villanova’s defense has been dreadful. The Wildcats have allowed an effective field goal percentage of 53.8%, with teams shooting nearly 38% from downtown and over 51% from inside the arc.

The Wildcats probably don’t have to worry about Oregon from downtown. The Ducks have shot just 28.2% from deep, and they’ve shot many attempts so far. Still, the Ducks could have success inside, shooting over 54%.

On the other hand, Oregon has also allowed teams to shoot over 35% from deep. The Wildcats haven’t been deadly from downtown but have shot better than Oregon, hitting 31.2% from looks from deep.

The Pick

Villanova is way worse on the offensive glass and won’t get many second chances.

However, they’re likely to win the turnover battle, as they’ve turned the ball over just 15.2% of the time. Either way, both defenses have struggled to defend the perimeter. Oregon should be able to dominate inside the arc.

On the other hand, Villanova will likely get more looks due to the lack of turnovers. That should help push this game over the total.

NCAAB Pick: Over 134.5 (-110) at BetOnline

Ole Miss Rebels vs. Oklahoma Sooners

Sunday, November 27, 2022, 01:30 PM EST at State Farm Field House

Game Analysis

The Ole Miss Rebels are still undefeated. Meanwhile, the Oklahoma Sooners have won five straight after an opening night loss to Sam Houston State. Ole Miss has turned the ball over 20.9% of the time.

However, Oklahoma is rarely going to earn takeaways. Instead, the Sooners will defend the perimeter well and force you to miss shots. Teams are shooting 24.2% from deep and 45.8% inside the arc against Oklahoma this season.

The Pick

The Rebels have earned a high rate of offensive rebounds, but against Oklahoma, it’s unlikely that they’ll bring down over 40% of offensive rebounds.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma isn’t going to crash the glass on the offensive end. But they’ll still shoot over 35% from downtown and nearly 55% from inside the arc. The Sooners should get quality looks from deep.

That would ultimately decide the game. If Oklahoma can shoot over 35% from deep, they’ll more than likely win this game.

NCAAB Pick: Oklahoma -2 (-110) at BetOnline

Stanford Cardinals vs. Memphis Tigers

Sunday, November 27, 2022, 11:00 AM EST at State Farm Field House

Game Analysis

The Stanford Cardinal lost the first game of the ESPN Events Invitational but earned a win over Florida State last night. They’ll try and add another win against the Memphis Tigers in today’s opener.

Meanwhile, Memphis took to Seton Hall on the tournament's opening night but defeated Nebraska yesterday. Stanford has turned the ball over 20.6% of the time. The Cardinal have also shot just 27.8% from three.

They’ve had their issues on the offensive end, except they’re still shooting 56.2% from inside the arc. Memphis has held teams to a 47.8% effective field goal percentage. However, teams are still shooting 33.6% from downtown on the Tigers. Memphis is also fouling at a very high rate.

The Pick

Although, Stanford is shooting below 70% from the foul line this season. On the flip side, Memphis doesn’t have that much better offense. They’re still shooting just 31.7% from deep but should also be able to win the turnover battle.

The Tigers have only shot 52.4% from inside and will struggle to earn offensive rebounds.

If Stanford dominates the defensive glass, I’d like to think they’ll earn enough foul shots to stick around in this game for our last NCAAB pick

NCAAB Pick: Stanford +6 at BetOnline
