Florida State Seminoles vs. Siena Saints

Thursday, November 24, 2022 – 11:00 AM EST at State Farm Field House

The Florida State Seminoles will open the ESPN Events Invitational up with a game against the Siena Saints.

Florida State finally won its first game against Mercer after losing its first 4 games. Meanwhile, Siena has lost 2 straight games to Army and Harvard and only has wins against bottom-tier teams.

Siena allowed teams to shoot an effective field goal percentage of 56%. Teams are currently scoring 58.8% from inside against Siena. That’s an area where Florida State has struggled to score this season, only hitting 46.2% of shots inside the paint, but they’ll get some easy looks down there.

Meanwhile, Siena is turning the ball over 22% of the time. Florida State isn’t a significant threat to earn takeaways. However, Siena should have the advantage on the glass. The Saints have gained 29.5% of offensive rebounds, while Florida State has allowed 38.6% of offensive rebounds.

On the other hand, Siena has allowed under 20% of offensive rebounds on the defensive end. The Saints have also shot lights out from deep, knocking down 41.5% from downtown. Meanwhile, Florida State has allowed teams to shoot 37.7% from downtown. Both teams are going to hit a heavy amount of threes.

Best Bet

But Florida State should have success inside, and Siena should be able to earn some high-quality three-point shots.

Following the NCAAB odds, let’s back the Over to start the day.

Ole Miss Rebels vs. Stanford Cardinal

Thursday, November 24, 2022 - 01:30 PM EST at State Farm Field House

The Stanford Cardinal will look to begin their first win streak of the season. They’re 2-2 on the season but lost to Wisconsin, and San Diego State, sandwiched between 2 wins against weaker opponents.

On the other hand, Ole Miss is 4-0 with an intriguing win over Florida Atlantic earlier this year. Ole Miss is shooting nearly 35% from deep and getting to the foul line at a very high rate. The offense turns the ball over 21.5% of the time, but Stanford isn’t going to earn a ton of turnovers anyway.

The Rebels usually dominate the offensive glass. They’re earning 45.4% of offensive rebounds. However, Stanford is also top-10 defensively in rebounding. That should be an intriguing matchup.

Meanwhile, Stanford has turned the ball over 22.6% of the time and will more than likely give up the ball more times than Ole Miss. However, Stanford will probably win the rebounding matchup, especially on the offensive glass, as they’ve earned 29.4% of offensive rebounds.

Ole Miss has struggled to defend the three-point line, but that might be okay, with Stanford shooting below 32% from deep this season.

Best Bet

Ultimately, Stanford should be able to get more second chances in this game.

They’ll likely rebound better and should get open looks from downtown. Neither team is excellent at the foul line. Back Stanford to get by Ole Miss.

NCAAB Pick: Stanford +1 (-110) at BetOnline

Oklahoma Sooners vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers

Thursday, November 24, 202 - 05:00 PM EST at State Farm Field House

Oklahoma began the season with a loss to Sam Houston State. Since then, they’ve earned 3 straight wins, each opponent becoming a tougher matchup.

Nebraska lost to St. John’s earlier this year, but they’ve also won 3 games against weak opponents.

Oklahoma isn’t going to win the turnover battle. The Sooners also won’t dominate on the offensive glass. However, the Sooners have been terrific on the defensive glass and are defending the three-point ball extremely well to begin the season.

Nebraska can’t say the same. And although Oklahoma has struggled from deep early on in the season, they’ve still got some legitimate shooting talent.

Best Bet

We won’t see a ton of fouls in this game, and we won’t see many second chances in this game. Oklahoma is hard to depend on as a 6.5-point favorite.

I’ll take the Under for our NCAAB picks.

Memphis Tigers vs. Seton Hall Pirates

Thursday, November 24, 2022 - 07:30 PM EST at State Farm Field House

The Memphis Tigers have had a demanding schedule to begin the year, with 3 straight games against top-100 opponents. After going 2-1, they’re hoping they’ll be the more prepared team against Seton Hall tonight.

Seton Hall lost to Iowa, 83-67, and defeated 3 mediocre teams this year. The Pirates have held teams to a 36.4% effective field goal percentage. They’ve struggled on the defensive glass, which has hurt their defense a little bit.

Still, teams have shot 21.2% from deep and 38.8% from inside the arc this season. With Memphis shooting below 30% from downtown, Seton Hall looks to be in good shape defensively.

The Pirates are bad on the defensive glass but also tremendous on the offensive glass. Seton Hall should get to the foul line at a high rate, and they’ve also earned 38.7% offensive rebounds.

Best Bet

The Pirates have much better shooting, and while they’re not the best inside the arc offensively, the defense inside the arc makes up for it.

Back Seton Hall at +1.5.
