This year’s All Hallows’ Eve has a jam-packed sports schedule! We are getting what should be very entertaining NBA and NFL games and World Series Game 5 and, in this article, we share betting picks for two of the best events of the evening.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Charlotte Hornets

Sunday, October 31, 2021 – 07:00 PM EDT at Spectrum Center

“I know at some point there’s going to be a big breakthrough,” Lillard said after scoring 20 points on 6 of 22 shooting and 4 of 11 from beyond the arc on Wednesday's 116-96 home win against the Grizzlies. “I don’t know when. But it’s going to happen.”

“You just want to see the ball going in,” he added. Lillard followed it up with 25 points on 9-for-17 from the field and 5-for-7 from 3-point range on Friday's 111-92 home win against the Clippers.

For now, Dame just wants to keep shooting and finding success where he can and this is a good spot for him, with Terry Rozier possibly out because of an ankle injury, leaving LaMelo Ball (minus-0.5 Defensive Box Plus/Minus) as his primary defender. Lillard has put too much work in and he is catching fire. I like Lillard leading the Trail Blazers to a big 'W' on the road for my NBA picks.

The Trail Blazers opened at a PK at some of the best sportsbooks and over at FiveThirtyEight, they have them at -0.5. FiveThirtyEight gives the Trail Blazers a 53 percent chance to win. The equivalent moneyline is -113. For support, we turn to USA Today’s Jeff Sagarin’s projections; he has the Trail Blazers at -0.85. using his Rating numbers and at -1.25 using his eigenvector analysis. This leaves a small gap between the FiveThirtyEight projections and the actual NBA odds

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Detroit Lions

Sunday, October 31, 2021 - 01:00 PM EDT at Ford Field

No one expected the Eagles to win the Super Bowl but they’ve underperformed. This team had reasons for optimism after drafting reigning Heisman Trophy winner DaVonta Smith and adding him to their young core on offense along Jalen Hurts and Miles Sanders but their 2-5 start is highly disappointing. The Lions are also a mess, they’re not protecting Jared Goff and he lacks weapons on offense. D’Andre Swift and T.J. Hockenson can’t do it all.

The Eagles opened at -3.5 in the NFL odds board at Bovada (visit our Bovada Review). FiveThirtyEight has the Eagles at -3.5.; Jeff Sagarin from The USA Today says Philadelphia -2.56 using his Rating system, and -2.93 using his eigenvector analysis. ESPN’s Football Power Index likes the Eagles to win 56.7 percent of the time. The equivalent moneyline is -131.

The projections have the Lions at +130 and you can find them at +163 at BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review), which means that there’s ample value on them to get their first win of the season but I’m looking at the spread for my NFL picks. Detroit has covered in four of their seven games this season and I like them catching 3.5 points at home, with Jared Goff playing for not just his job, but his career.

NFL Pick: Lions +3.5 (-108) at Heritage Sports (visit our Heritage Sports Review)
