Using this information correctly leads to winning player props. Let’s dive right in and make winning NBA picks.
Chicago Bulls vs. Detroit Pistons
Wednesday, March 01, 2023 – 07:00 PM EST at Little Caesars Arena
James Wiseman (Detroit Pistons)
- Over 13.5 Points
In the late ’80s, the Chicago Bulls and the Detroit Pistons were one of the top rivalries in the NBA. Currently, when these teams meet, the results have been one-sided. The Chicago Bulls have beaten the Detroit Pistons in 13 consecutive games. Their most recent game was played in Paris. So, no matter the continent, the Pistons have struggled against the Bulls.
The Detroit Pistons have not struggled against just the Bulls. They are struggling against everyone in the NBA. They have lost five straight games and they are in last place in the Eastern Conference. The Pistons have a 15-47 record.
The Pistons will have a high draft pick this year and are concentrating on developing young talent. One of the best stories of the Pistons’ season has been the play of rookie center Jalen Duren. Duren will miss tonight’s game. This opens up an opportunity for the new center James Wiseman.
The Prop Pick
James Wiseman was the number two overall pick in the 2020 draft. He was drafted by the Golden State Warriors, a team with championship aspirations. Wiseman struggled with injuries and had problems staying on the court. And when he was healthy, the Warriors’ high expectations did not allow him to play through the mistakes that he made.
This is a luxury he will be afforded in Detroit, where the team is willing to take some bumps and bruises in the name of player development.
James Wiseman is a strong talent. He is 7 ft and moves well with grace and agility. His issue has been a lack of experience. Wiseman only played three games in college so he has not become accustomed to the high level of competition in the NBA. Wiseman makes many defensive errors, whether it be failing to rotate or getting himself in foul trouble early.
When given an opportunity and a longer leash with the Pistons, however, he has come through. In the Pistons’ most recent game, James Wiseman had 23 points and seven rebounds. This was in just 27 minutes of play. The Pistons understand that Wiseman will make mistakes, especially on the defensive end, but because they are not competing for a playoff spot, they are willing to live with those mistakes for the promise that Wiseman holds.
James Wiseman will get plenty of opportunities with Jalen Duren still out of the lineup. I expect Wiseman to show off the potential that made him the number 2 pick and put up another impressive statistical night. Following the NBA odds, our first point prop is James Wiseman Over 13.5 points.

Phoenix Suns vs. Charlotte Hornets
Wednesday, March 01, 2023 – 07:00 PM EST at Spectrum Center
Mark Williams (Charlotte Hornets)
- Over 9.5 Rebounds
Even though the Hornets are not very good this year, all NBA eyes will be on tonight’s game as Kevin Durant will be making his Suns debut against the Hornets. Casual observers will think that this is an easy win for the Suns. Not so fast, however, as the Charlotte Hornets come into the game having won five games in a row.
The Suns will be hoping that Durant can help turn things around against the Hornets. The Suns have lost two of their last three games. The Suns’ most recent game was a 104-101 loss in Milwaukee.
While the Suns tried to integrate Durant into the lineup, Mark Williams will look to continue his impressive play. At the trade deadline, Charlotte moved Mason Plumlee in order to give their rookie center Williams more minutes.
He has responded with impressive play showing why he’s worthy of their first-round draft pick. Williams was showing excellent chemistry with teammate LaMelo Ball. Unfortunately, Ball suffered a broken ankle and will be out for the rest of the season. Even though Charlotte is on a winning streak, they are still not going to make the playoffs. They will be prioritizing development, and getting reps for their rookie center will be a top priority.
The Prop Pick
Mark Williams has gone Over this number in three of his last four games, including a 20-rebound outing against Miami. In the win over the Heat, Williams grabbed 20 rebounds in 29 minutes. Mark Williams was brought to the Hornets to provide rim protection and grab defensive rebounds. He will do that tonight against a Phoenix Suns team with the eyes of the NBA on him.
This is a great opportunity for Mark Williams to show that he was a solid pick by the Charlotte Hornets. Our second player prop for the evening is Mark Williams Over 9.5 rebounds.
