The Nets rested many players last night in order to have their full roster available for tonight to match up against the Timberwolves. The Nets had a three-game winning streak ended when they fell to the Bucks.
The Nets will be looking to start a new win streak tonight. Nic Claxton, Spencer Dinwiddie, Cam Johnson, and Royce O’Neale all missed the game. Mikal Bridges and Dorian Finney-Smith only played 12 minutes in the loss in order to be ready for tonight’s showdown.
The Matchup
The Minnesota Timberwolves are currently in seventh place in the West. The Timberwolves are coming off a disappointing performance on national TV when they fell 117-94 to the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night. It was only the fourth time this season the Timberwolves failed to score 100 points.
Anthony Edwards had a big night with 32 points, but his supporting cast was not able to give him the help he needed. Edwards will need players such as Kyle Anderson to come through for the Timberwolves to get back on track tonight.
Kyle Anderson has been a glue guy for the Minnesota Timberwolves this season. Anderson does whatever is needed for the team to win, and tonight they will need his scoring. Although Anderson is only averaging 8.8 points per game this season, his recent results have shown a much higher scoring output. The Matchup
Now the Nuggets look to get back on track against one of the NBA’s worst teams, the San Antonio Spurs. This feels like a “get it right again” game for Denver. Denver will look to increase its lead in the West with a win tonight. Denver is seven games ahead of the second-place Sacramento Kings. Denver is 1.5 games behind the Milwaukee Bucks for the best record in the NBA.
The Spurs come into this matchup rested. The Spurs have not played for 4 days. The Spurs’ most recent game was when they got blown out by the Houston Rockets in Houston last Sunday. The Spurs fell 142-110. The Spurs have been terrible this year. The Spurs will be looking to be at the top of the NBA draft, but the Spurs are not at the top of anybody’s list of teams that they want to watch.
