The NBA has a huge slate filled with action for tonight. Let’s take a look at the variety of options we have to make more winning NBA player prop picks.
We’ll be looking at three games on the NBA odds board:
- Charlotte Hornets vs. Memphis Grizzlies
- Brooklyn Nets vs. Washington Wizards
- Miami Heat vs. Indiana Pacers
Charlotte Hornets vs. Memphis Grizzlies
Friday, November 4, 2022 – 08:00 PM EDT at FedExForum
The Memphis Grizzlies' Ja Morant is off to a spectacular start this season, averaging 31.4 points per game. Morant continues to improve with each season. He has exceptional quickness and feel for the game of basketball, and he is continuing to learn how to use his athletic gifts in order to be an effective scorer and passer.
Tonight he has an opportunity to put up huge numbers against a Hornets team that likes to play fast. The Charlotte Hornets average 114.5 points against per game. This team likes to get up and down the floor, and Ja Morant will be happy to show off his explosive ability to do just that.
The Charlotte Hornets run Terry Rozier and Dennis Smith Jr. at the point guard position. Both men are incredible scorers, and Dennis Smith's resurgence this season has been one of the uplifting stories in the NBA.
However, neither is known for their defensive prowess, meaning Ja Morant won't even need to hunt switches in order to have an advantage in this matchup.
The Prop Pick
Everything is set up well for Ja Morant to have a huge night. Against a team that plays at a high pace, struggles defending point guards, and with Morant currently being on a tear of incredible play, this prop is a no-brainer.
Our first betting pick for tonight's NBA action is Ja Morant over 28.5 points.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Washington Wizards
Friday, November 4, 2022 – 07:00 PM EDT at Capital One Arena
The Washington Wizards host the Brooklyn Nets, who are currently embroiled in turmoil. After Kyrie Irving's anti-Semitic posts on his social media, he has been suspended by the Nets indefinitely, but at a minimum of at least five games. This puts the burden of everything on offense on Kevin Durant, which will weaken his ability to play defense.
For the Washington Wizards, Kristaps Porzingis has been absolutely fantastic lately. He is averaging 21 points and 8.5 rebounds per game this season. In the last two games, he averaged 31 points and 9 rebounds. Porzingis was able to take advantage of a Philadelphia team who lacks size at center. He gets the same advantage matchup tonight against a Brooklyn team that is also light in the middle.
If Durant wasn't charged with completely carrying the offense, he might be able to give Porzingis some trouble, but it is unlikely they will put too much of a burden on their superstar this early in the season. Rather, the task will fall to Nico Claxton, who is simply not capable of stopping a healthy Porzingis.
Kristaps Porzingis' good play has been a boon for Washington this season. Porzingis has always been an intriguing talent, but injuries and lack of fit have robbed him of his ability to showcase his skills. Teamed with Bradley Beal in Washington and getting plenty of usage, Porzingis is showing why he was called the Unicorn when he was the number four overall pick out of Latvia by the New York Knicks.
The Prop Pick
Anytime Porzingis plays against a team that is small, he will use his 7′3″ frame to put up big numbers.
We have this opportunity tonight. Our second bet is Kristaps Porzingis over 33.5 points, rebounds, and assists.
NBA Pick: Kristaps Porzingis Over 33.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists (-110) at BetOnline
Miami Heat vs. Indiana Pacers
Friday, November 4, 2022 – 07:00 PM EDT at Gainbridge Fieldhouse
The Indiana Pacers continue their rebuilding season. The Pacers are currently sitting at 3-5 and they know that they do not have the roster to compete now. As a result, they are prioritizing the development of young players such as Tyrese Haliburton, Chris Duarte, and Benedict Mathurin. Tonight they face a stingy defense, the Miami Heat.
Buddy Hield is averaging 17.8 points per game this season and his prop is set at 17.5. So you might be asking me, where's the edge?
Simply put, the Heat play excellent defense and do not allow open three-point looks often. Hield is a three-point marksman that thrives on his ability to knock down three-point shots when you give him space.
The Heat understand this and are one of the best teams in the league at running opposing players off the 3-point line.
The Prop Pick
Buddy Hield is a great scorer, but tonight the Heat will not give him the opportunities for such open looks. If Hield starts to force things, Indiana Pacers coach Rick Carlisle will go to his bench.
If Hield is not making shots, he does not add much to this team. I expect the Miami Heat to put the clamps on Buddy Hield and create a rough night for the Pacers' sharpshooter.
Our last bet for tonight's exciting slate of NBA action is Buddy Hield under 17.5 points.
NBA Pick: Buddy Hield Under 17.5 Points (-110) at BetOnline
