Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
Monday, March 06, 2023 – 07:00 PM EST at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse
Teams Analysis
Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics are going through the motions right now. They’ve lost three of their last four games. Two came against the Knicks and another against the Nets, who rallied back from a nearly 30-point deficit.
The Celtics could end up resting some of their players after last night’s double-overtime game. The offense has struggled to earn second chances on the glass and isn’t getting to the foul line at a high rate.
That won’t change against the Cavaliers’ defense. Cleveland has held teams to 25.8% offensive rebounds and has allowed just 110.6 points per 100 possessions this season.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavaliers aren’t the better offense, but they’ll be able to limit turnovers and retain more possessions. The Cavs won’t typically have their way on the glass and won’t get to the foul line at a high rate, either.
The Celtics have held opponents to 23.8% offensive rebounds and an 18.4 free throw rate, which is third in the NBA.
The Pick
After the Celtics just played a double-overtime game, Boston will be tired and could end up sitting some of their star players for this game anyway.
Knowing how good Boston and Cleveland have been defensively throughout the season, I’m grabbing the Under 219 but be cautious. These two teams have gone overtime twice this season already.
If that were to happen, the bet would likely lose. However, I don’t think it’ll happen again. Just throwing it out there.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Indiana Pacers
Monday, March 06, 2023 – 07:00 PM EST at Gainbridge Fieldhouse
Teams Analysis
Philadelphia 76ers
The 76ers have had a lot of offensive success against the Pacers this season. They’ve added 120 and 129 in their two games. Also, the 76ers have scored 117.2 points per 100 possessions, while the Pacers have allowed 117.1. Philadelphia should reach their averages and some more, knowing that Indiana has fouled at a very high rate.
The 76ers can get to the foul line at a high rate and even earn some second chances on the offensive glass, with the Pacers allowing 30.5% of offensive rebounds.
Indiana Pacers
The Pacers are below average in almost every offensive category. They’re coming off a win against the Bulls and have won three of their last four games, but don’t get it twisted.
The Pacers still have under 30 wins on the year, while the 76ers have 41 wins this season. Philadelphia’s the better defense and the better offense, and after escaping Milwaukee, Philadelphia’s feeling confident on both ends of the floor.
The Pick
Therefore, I’ll grab the 76ers -6.5 on the road. Philadelphia has already won the first two meetings against the Pacers.
One game wasn’t close, and the other went overtime, but the Pacers are finally getting some support for winning over the last week the line is now a bit too low for the 76ers.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Detroit Pistons
Monday, March 06, 2023 – 07:00 PM EST at Little Caesars Arena
Teams Analysis
Portland Trail Blazers
Portland’s offense ranks 6th in points per 100 possessions. They’re also 8th in effective field goal percentage and are second in free throw rate.
Portland scores mainly with Damian Lillard running the show. The Blazers could also add some offensive rebounds, with Detroit allowing 28.1% of offensive rebounds per game this season.
Detroit Pistons
On the other hand, the Blazers have struggled on the defensive end. Detroit will have chances to stick around offensively. The Pistons have been inconsistent on the offensive end but should end up with second chances off offensive rebounds and usually get to the foul line at a solid rate.
The Pistons don’t take quality looks from the field and turn the ball over 15.1% of the time, but the Blazers also allow teams to shoot close to a 56% effective field goal percentage and allow 118.1 points per 100 possessions.
The Pick
The Blazers added 135 against the Pistons in the only game these two teams have played this year. Don’t be surprised if that happens again. Also, let’s give the Pistons the benefit of the doubt. Their offense should at least have some success as well.
Following the NBA odds, I’ll take the Over 229.5 in this matchup.
