Milwaukee Bucks vs. Brooklyn Nets

Tuesday, February 28, 2023 – 07:30 PM EST at Barclays Center

Teams Analysis

Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks have won one of two games against the Nets this season. The Bucks have a banged-up Giannis Antetokounmpo, but he continues to fight off injuries. He’ll play tonight despite a quad injury that kept him out of his previous game.

The Bucks don’t have the best offense this season. But they can dominate the offensive glass, earn second chances, and still score an average of 114.9 points per game.

Meanwhile, the Nets have admittedly struggled defensively with its new group. The communication and style of play are still a learning curve for the Nets.

Brooklyn Nets

The Nets will be without Ben Simmons. But it’s not like he was giving them many good minutes anyway.

The Nets have lost four of their last five games and continue to struggle badly on the offensive glass. Second chances will be tough to come by, along with foul shots.

The Nets ultimately take good shots, but the Bucks are the best team in the NBA in defensive effective field goal percentage.

The Pick

The Bucks are on a huge winning streak. Giannis will be back, and they’ll face a Nets team that hasn’t been great defensively.

Back the Bucks at-5.5, even on the road.

Sacramento Kings vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

Tuesday, February 28, 2023 – 08:00 PM EST at Paycom Center

Teams Analysis

Sacramento Kings

The Kings have won four of their last five games and have scored rapidly throughout the season.

Sacramento leads the NBA in points per 100 possessions with 119 points. The Kings also shoot a 57.6% effective field goal percentage and get to the foul line at a very high rate.

Against the Thunder, expect all that to continue. The Thunder fouls at a very high rate and gives up 30% of offensive rebounds. The Kings don’t dominate the glass, but they shoot at a very high rate and should ultimately get more second chances in this game.

Oklahoma City Thunder

With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the offense is likely to succeed. The Kings have limited offensive rebounds and don’t let teams get to the foul line at a high pace.

If the Thunder starts missing shots, there will be no coming back for them.

Oklahoma City is good at limiting turnovers. They’ll get shots up, and the Kings truly don’t defend all that well, giving up a 56.6% effective field goal percentage. I’ll still give the Thunder the benefit of the doubt.

The Pick

The Kings are scoring at a high rate and defending at a low rate. That’s an excellent recipe for the over in tonight’s game at NBA odds. Nobody would be surprised if both teams reached 120 points in this game.

NBA Pick: Over 236 (-110) at BetOnline

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Golden State Warriors

Tuesday, February 28, 2023 – 10:00 PM EST at Chase Center

Teams Analysis

Portland Trail Blazers

Damian Lillard won’t score 71 points per game. I promise.

But he’s on fire right now. I expect him to continue his hot shooting heading into tonight’s game.

The Blazers have scored nearly 118 points per 100 possessions while shooting an effective field goal percentage of 56.5%. Portland has also earned plenty of trips to the foul line and should be able to get there at a high rate against the Warriors.

Golden State’s defense has been average throughout the season. But in the last two games, the Warriors have held opponents to 104 points or fewer. It’ll be hard to do that against Portland.

Golden State Warriors

On the other hand, Golden State has shot a 57.1% effective field goal percentage. That’s fourth-best in the NBA, which has helped them score 115.3 points per 100 possessions.

Klay Thompson has been on fire as well. Thompson scored 12 3-pointers and 42 points total against Houston on Friday night in a 116-101 Warriors win.

Turnovers are still high, and foul shots are coming around too often. Against Portland, every offense looks a little bit better. The Blazers have allowed 117.6 points per 100 possessions while allowing opponents to shoot a 55.5% effective field goal percentage.

The Pick

The Warriors couldn’t handle a Minnesota team without Rudy Gobert and Karl Anthony-Towns. They won but won by just five. The Warriors are without a critical piece of Steph Curry and haven’t been consistently good on defense this season.

I’m rocking with the over and cheering on a Lillard-Thompson show. I want both to score at least 50 tonight!
