Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Washington Wizards

Monday, November 28, 2022 – 07:00 PM EST at Capital One Arena

The Minnesota Timberwolves will meet with the Washington Wizards for the first time this season. Minnesota is currently on a two-game losing streak, while the Wizards are on a three-game slide. One team will get back on track tonight with a win.

Teams Analysis

Minnesota Timberwolves

Minnesota has played some outstanding defense over the last couple of weeks. They’ve held 4 of their previous 6 opponents to an effective field goal percentage of 50.6% or worse. They’ve been inconsistent on the defensive glass but still have one of the best rebounders in the NBA on their side Rudy Gobert.

Minnesota struggled defensively in its most recent game against the Warriors. But overall, they have been consistent in that area. I’m expecting a turnaround defensively for Minnesota against a Washington team that might not even have Kyle Kuzma active tonight.

The Timberwolves have also been solid in forcing turnovers, earning at least 16.5% of turnovers in 4 of their last 6 games. The offense has struggled, scoring just 106.7 points per 100 possessions in 3 of their previous 6 games. The turnovers have been high, and the offensive rebounds aren’t coming very often.

Washington Wizards

On the flip side, the Wizards have struggled offensively, minus their last game against the Celtics. Although the offense scored 129 points per 100 possessions, the Wizards still lost due to their inability to defend.

Washington’s defense has been trending down over the last week. The defense has allowed at least 113 points per 100 possessions while rarely earning turnovers. They’ve also allowed 29.2% offensive rebounds in their previous four games.

The Spread Pick

Let’s back the Timberwolves on the road in this one. For residents of Gopher State looking to bet on this game, you can check out our top Minnesota betting sites.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Toronto Raptors

Monday, November 28, 2022 - 07:30 PM EST at Scotiabank Arena

There are plenty of injuries between these two teams. While Jarrett Allen is day-to-day with the Cavs, Caris LeVert and Kevin Love will likely be inactive for tonight’s game. Meanwhile, Otto Porter Jr. and Pascal Siakam will likely miss tonight’s game for the Raptors. Scottie Barnes is currently questionable.

So there’s that.

Teams Analysis

Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavaliers have struggled offensively over the last 2 games, shooting a low effective field goal percentage below 50% in each game. Cleveland has also turned the ball over at least 15.1% of the time in 5 of their last 6 games.

However, the defense has been outstanding, holding teams a low effective field goal percentage and points per 100 possessions. And while the Cavs turn the ball over, the reason earns plenty of turnovers.

Cleveland has not been great on the defensive glass but hasn’t had a game where they just lost complete focus on defensive rebounding.

Toronto Raptors

Meanwhile, the Raptors won the first meeting between these 2 teams, winning 108-105. The defenses stepped up in that game. I’d expect the same in this one.

Toronto has shot an effective field goal percentage of 48.1% or worse in their last 3 games. They’ve dominated the offensive glass and should still do that in this game, but the Raptors aren’t the most aggressive team in getting to the line.

Toronto has struggled defensively a little bit. Teams have shot a highly effective field goal percentage in their last 4 games, earning at least a 53.8% percentage.

The Moneyline Pick

Following the NBA odds, I’m backing Cleveland to push through against Toronto on the road.

Chicago Bulls vs. Utah Jazz

Monday, November 28, 2022 - 09:00 PM EST at Vivint Arena

Teams Analysis

Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz is straight savages offensively. They’ve scored at least 115.7 points per 100 possessions in 6 consecutive games. The offense has shot a high effective field goal percentage during this time and continues to limit turnovers while earning a high rate of offensive rebounds.

However, the Jazz has also allowed 121.5 points per 100 possessions in 5 of their last 6 games.

Utah has struggled on the defensive glass and will send teams to the foul line at a high rate.

Chicago Bulls

Meanwhile, the Bulls have shot an effective field goal percentage of at least 55.2% in 3 of their last 5 games. They won’t dominate the offensive glass but can keep turnovers down.

Chicago is also better defensively. But they’ve allowed teams to shoot a 54.6% effective field goal percentage in 4 of their last 6 games.

The Over/Under Pick

I’ve got the offenses dominating in this one for our NBA picks.
