The Milwaukee Bucks will play its second game in two days. After struggling against the Bulls, but ultimately winning, can the Bucks dominate the Kings? Let’s take a look at the NBA odds for this matchup!

Sacramento Kings vs. Milwaukee Bucks

Saturday, January 22, 2022 – 7:00 PM EST at Fiserv Forum

The Milwaukee Bucks will play the second game of a back-to-back after struggling against a shorthanded Chicago Bulls team in which the Bucks were massive favorites. The Bucks were heavy favorites, at home, and only beat the Bulls by four points.

Now they’ll take on a bad Sacramento Kings team as a massive favorite again. Maybe now, the Bucks will finally get in a rhythm. The Kings have lost three of their last five games with wins against just the Lakers and Rockets during that time span.

The offense has been scoring points at a high rate recently, but the defense is also giving up points at a high rate. Each of Sacramento’s last five games has had each team at least score 108 points. Recently, the Kings just lost a 133-131 game to the Pistons, at home.

During that five-game span, the Kings were home in every game. Now they’re about to start a little road trip against the defending champions. It’s not going to be easy defensively. The Kings are currently one of the worst defenses in the NBA, allowing 114.3 points per 100 possessions.

Teams are shooting an effective field goal percentage of 53.6 percent while only earning 13.2 percent turnovers. Sacramento also struggles on the defensive glass, allowing teams to grab 28.3 percent offensive rebounds.

So really, there’s nothing great that comes with the Kings and their defense. Offensively, things have been getting better, but still, the Kings are only scoring 109.6 points per 100 possessions while shooting an effective field goal percentage of 52.1 percent.

While the Bucks struggled against the Bulls last night, Milwaukee still looks terrific on the defensive end. The Bucks allow just 107.9 points per 100 possessions and limit effective field goal percentages to 51.7 percent. The one area where the Kings have had success is on the offensive glass, earning 26.2 percent of rebounds.

However, the Bucks allow just 24.9 percent offensive rebounds this season. The Kings also get to the line at an above-average rate, but again, Milwaukee limits the opposition at an even higher rate when it comes to the foul line.

Therefore, I like the Bucks to win this game fairly easily. The defense has been rock solid this year but the offense has struggled at times. Against the Kings, the offense will have plenty of open looks while also limiting turnovers.

I’d also expect the Bucks to win many second chances against the Kings on the offensive end and rebound very well throughout the game. The spread for the Bucks is sitting at -9 and while that’s a lot for any NBA game, I’ll take it for our NBA picks.

The Bucks are coming off a win at home and regardless of how ugly it was, the Bucks won and now have momentum going into tonight’s game. That’s what counts.
