There are 13 games scheduled for Wednesday, although a few are in weather jeopardy and there are several matinees.

Here are four MLB player prop picks we like from BetOnline, one of BMR’s top-rated sportsbooks.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees

Wednesday, April 13, 2022 – 07:05 PM EDT at Yankee Stadium

Aaron Judge

  • Over/under 0.5 RBIs

These are two of the most loaded lineups in the major leagues, but there has been a shutout in each of the first two games of the series, and only seven runs scored.

Pitchers are usually ahead of hitters early in the season, although some thought that might change this year with the shortened spring.

On the eve of the season, Yankees star Aaron Judge, arguably the team’s best homegrown player since Derek Jeter and for sure its most popular player since Jeter, reportedly turned down a seven-year, $231.5 million extension (must be nice) and is now set to hit free agency this winter.

The sides will not negotiate during the season as that can be a distraction for the team and players.

The judge obviously runs the risk of getting injured and not seeing anything close to that type of money again.

Or, he could have an MVP-caliber season and get much more on the open market. I usually expect guys on contract years to have big seasons, but Judge has not gotten off to a good start in hitting .250 with zero RBIs and an OPS of .668.

However, I like him here for an RBI at a good price because Judge is 5-for-10 with a double career off Blue Jays starter Jose Berrios, and Berrios was absolutely terrible in his season debut against Texas.

For what it’s worth, Judge has reached base safely in all five games.  Berrios is the Blue Jays’ ace and struggled in his season debut.

Gerrit Cole

  • Over/under 5.5 strikeouts

New York’s Gerrit Cole was the AL Cy Young favorite entering the season after finishing second last year and Cole was not good in his opener for an inning at least, allowing three runs on four hits over four against Boston.

I don’t read too much into that as the Red Sox really hit Cole well in 2021 as well, and Cole said he was a bit frustrated in the opener because pregame ceremonies ran long and delayed his first pitch for a bit.

The Red Sox scored all three runs off Cole in the top of the first but then he looked good.

Last year against the Blue Jays, Cole was 2-1 with a 3.72 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 29 innings. None of the top Toronto hitters have fared well in his career.

Matt Chapman has 10Ks in 20 at-bats. Take this into consideration next time you review our MLB odds.

Seattle Mariners vs. Chicago White Sox

Wednesday, April 13, 2022 – 07:10 PM EDT at Guaranteed Rate Field

Dallas Keuchel

  • Over/under 2.5 earned runs

Weird schedule today as this is the latest game on the schedule – no late-night games on the West Coast with Arizona and San Francisco both playing home matinees.

It’s also a matchup of former Cy Young-winning left-handers in Seattle’s Robbie Ray, the 2021 winner with Toronto, and Chicago’s Dallas Keuchel, the 2015 winner with Houston.

Ray is still a good pitcher, but Keuchel really isn’t at age 34 as he makes his season debut. Last year, Keuchel had a career-high 5.28 ERA and batters hit a collective .290 off him with 25 homers.

He was so bad late in the season that the White Sox opted to keep him off the ALDS roster. ‘‘Mentally, it was tough at the end of [last] year,’’ Keuchel said.

‘‘Especially being left off the playoff roster.’’ Keuchel had a 4.50 ERA in two starts vs. Seattle in 2021. Also, keep in mind that Guaranteed Rate Field is a hitters’ park.

Luis Robert

  • Over/under 0.5 stolen bases

My preseason MLB best bet for AL MVP was White Sox outfielder Luis Robert, and he has been very good so far, batting .375 with a homer, two RBIs and an OPS of 1.037.

Robert also had a big-time catch that may have saved Tuesday’s White Sox win.

Robert has hit safely in each in each of his first four games to begin 2022, marking his third straight season with a hit in each of the team's first four games.

Robert also has stolen a base in three straight games and is 4-for-4 in attempts, so let’s take a shot there at a huge price.
