The Los Angeles Dodgers have been so dominant this season that they are likely to be the first team to clinch a playoff berth at some point this weekend. We like one Dodgers’ hitter tonight in San Diego.

Here are today’s player props with MLB odds from BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review), one of BMR’s top-rated sportsbooks.

Washington Nationals vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Friday, September 9, 2022 – 07:05 PM EDT at Citizens Bank Park

Nationals' Prop Bet: Patrick Corbin

  • Over/Under 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed
  • To Earn A Win?

The biggest money-losing pitcher in Major League Baseball this season has been Washington lefty Patrick Corbin, who is 6-17 with a 6.28 ERA – he might become the first 20-game loser in MLB in years, although I tend to think the Nationals may simply skip a start or something for Corbin to avoid that embarrassment.

If you bet $100 on the Nationals to win every game that Corbin had started this season, you would have lost nearly $1,300. Did I mention he has two years left on his contract totaling $69 million?

To the 33-year-old’s credit, he has been better of late in allowing 2 earned runs or fewer in three straight. However, he’s 2-10 with a 7.95 ERA on the road, 3-12 with a 7.17 ERA at night, and 0-2 with an 18.00 ERA in two starts against the Phillies, allowing an absurd 15 runs (8earned) and 13 hits in only 4 innings.

Phillies' Prop Bet: Rhys Hoskins

  • Over/Under 1.5 Total Bases

A lot of Phillies have good splits against Corbin, but we’ll back two in particular.

We won a total bases prop on first baseman Rhys Hoskins earlier this week, and he’s 10-for-30 career off Corbin with 4 doubles and 3 homers – an OPS of 1.178.

Hoskins also enters with 4 hits in his past eight at-bats overall.

Phillies' Prop Bet: Alec Bohm

  • Over/Under 1.5 Total Bases

Third baseman Alec Bohm is 5-for-14 off Corbin with 2 solo homers, an OPS of 1.223. In Thursday’s upset loss to the Marlins, Bohm had a double and triple, and we need only one of those to win this bet.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Texas Rangers

Friday, September 9, 2022 – 08:05 PM EDT at Globe Life Field

What You Should Know

Two Blue Jays' notes here if you are planning to bet the game outright: Outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (.291, 5 HR, 52 RBI) is in question after leaving Wednesday’s win in Baltimore with hamstring discomfort while trying to beat out a throw to first base.

DH/outfielder Teoscar Hernandez (.263, 20 HR, 64 RBI) was placed on the paternity list before Wednesday’s game. He doesn’t have to return Friday but it doesn’t mean he won’t be with the Jays needing every win they can get as they chase a playoff spot.

Blue Jays' Prop Bet: Bo Bichette

  • Over/Under 1.5 Total Bases

The hottest Blue Jays hitter right now is shortstop Bo Bichette, who is batting .275 on the season with 22 homers and 80 RBIs. Even after going 0-for-4 on Wednesday, in the past seven days, he’s 11-for-31 with 5 homers, 3 doubles, and 14 RBIs. Bichette credited the hot streak to simply no longer trying to be so hard on himself.

“Instead of realizing this game is really hard, and you have to compete every day, and you’re not going to be perfect,” Bichette said. “Just for me, it was kind of letting go of trying to be perfect, trying to be the perfect hitter. That’s kind of what changed for me… I definitely can get too hard on myself. That’s maybe why it took five months for me to figure it out. But I don’t think the expectations I had for myself were too much. I still, throughout everything, believed in myself, believed I could accomplish great things.”

The Rangers start Dane Dunning (3-8, 4.37) on the mound, and Bichette is 3-for-5 off him with 2 solo homers.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres

Friday, September 9, 2022 – 09:40 PM EDT at Petco Park

What You Should Know

Had the Milwaukee Brewers not swept a home doubleheader from the San Francisco Giants on Thursday, the Dodgers could have clinched a playoff spot today but that did happen so now the Los Angeles magic number is three, meaning it can’t happen before Saturday.

Clinching the NL West won’t be far behind and then it might be wise to fade the Dodgers for a while as they really won’t have much to play for with easily the best record in the majors.

Dodgers' Prop Bet: Mookie Betts

  • Over/Under 0.5 Runs Scored

Mike Clevinger (5-6, 3.96 ERA) is on the mound tonight for San Diego. Solid pitcher but is 0-2 with an 11.25 ERA this season in two starts vs. the Dodgers, and Mookie Betts is 7-for-12 with a double, triple, and 4 RBIs career off him.

We could pay a price of -257 for Betts to have at least 2 hits, runs, and RBIs, and I think he will get that total, but let’s just pay -140 for Mookie to simply score a run. He’s second in the majors with 105 runs.
