Very light schedule around Major League Baseball on Monday but that doesn’t mean there’s no value.

Cincinnati Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

Monday, September 26, 2022 – 06:35 PM EDT at PNC Park

This is the first game of the night, only four on the schedule overall. Frankly, it benefits the Pirates to lose out as they “chase” the Washington Nationals for the worst record in the majors, although remember there is a draft lottery going forward.

The teams with the three worst records would have the equal 16.5% best chance of winning it. Most believe that LSU outfielder Dylan Crews will be the top pick next summer.

Roansy Contreras

  • Over/Under 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed
  • To Record A Win

Pittsburgh does have some promising young talent on the roster and 22-year-old right-hander Roansy Contreras is one of them.

The Dominican is 5-5 with a 3.68 ERA and has been better at home (3.22 ERA) than away (4.15 ERA). He is 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA in 10 innings this year vs. the Reds.

Donovan Solano

  • Over/Under 1.5 Total Bases

Half of the Cincinnati regulars are on the injured list at this point. I do like Donovan Solano in this matchup, though, as he’s 3-for-4 off Contreras with a double and homer.

MLB Prop Pick: Solano Over 1.5 Total Bases (+135) at BetOnline

Kevin Newman

  • Over/Under 0.5 Hits

I can’t say for sure whether Pirates utility player Kevin Newman will be in the lineup after he got Sunday off, but I think he will be.

Newman is riding an eight-game hitting streak and is 4-for-10 career off Reds starter Chase Anderson (2-5, 5.21 ERA).

New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays

Monday, September 26, 2022 - 07:07 PM EDT at Rogers Centre

Aaron Judge

  • Over/Under 0.5 Home Runs

Our most recent props story was last Thursday and we faded Aaron Judge to homer against the Red Sox at a very reasonable price of -280.

He didn’t go yard and hasn’t in five straight games, still stuck on 60 and one shy of Roger Maris’ Yankees/American League record. Judge has averaged one home run every 2.5 team games this season.

If he keeps up that pace, he would finish with 64 homers, the most anyone has hit in a season since Barry Bonds had an MLB-record 73 in 2001. It would be the sixth 64-plus homer season in MLB history

I do think a good chance Judge goes yard tonight, though. He is 8-for-22 career off Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman with three homers.

MLB Prop Pick: Judge Over 0.5 Home Runs (+175) at BetOnline

Anthony Rizzo

  • Over/Under 1.5 Total Bases

Gausman has been quite a bit worse at home (4-7, 4.67 ERA) than on the road (8-3, 2.30 ERA). On the flip side, New York’s Anthony Rizzo is just 2-for-15 off Gausman.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Boston Red Sox

Monday, September 26, 2022 - 07:10 PM EDT at Fenway Park

It’s officially desperation time for the Orioles as they remain four games out of the last Wild-Card spot in the American League, currently held by Seattle.

The Birds suffered two crushing close losses over the weekend at home against Houston and this starts a seven-game trip. Don’t think the playoffs are happening.

Jordan Lyles

  • Over/Under 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed

Journeyman right-hander Jordan Lyles is on the mound tonight and he’s 6-8 with a 5.48 ERA on the road compared to 5-3 with a 3.47 ERA at home.

Lyles also has an 8.00 ERA in 18 innings this year against Boston.

MLB Prop Pick: Lyles Over 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-125) at BetOnline

Tommy Pham

  • Over/Under 1.5 Total Bases

A lot of Red Sox batters have good splits off Lyle, but we’ll go with Tommy Pham (5-for-13 off him with a double and homer).

MLB Prop Pick: Pham Over 1.5 Total Bases (+100) at BetOnline

Enrique Hernandez

  • Over/Under 0.5 Hits

We will also go with Enrique Hernandez (6-for-12 with two doubles)
