The NBA season ended on Thursday night with the Warriors winning the championship. That means it’s really time to focus on baseball until football starts.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Cincinnati Reds
Friday, June 17, 2022 – 06:40 PM EDT at Great American Ball Park
Red Prop Bet: Hunter Greene
- Over/Under 6.5 Strikeouts
One of the highly touted pitching prospects in the majors is Reds right-hander Hunter Greene, the second overall pick in the 2017 MLB Draft. No one throws harder in the Show. Thing is, big-leaguers can hit gas if that’s all a pitcher has.
Early on this season, Hunter Greene was getting absolutely hammered because batters were sitting on his fastball. Frankly, he looked overmatched and there was talk the Reds might send him back to the majors rather than wreck his confidence. However, Greene is starting to show he belongs there.
- Over his past six starts, he has a 3.18 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 44 strikeouts in 34 innings.
- In three June starts, he has whiffed 23 in 15.2 innings with at least 7 strikeouts in each.
- He is the reigning National League Player of the Week, the first Reds player so honored this season.
- He is the third rookie in the majors to win his league’s weekly award, joining Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki and Angels pitcher Reid Detmers.
The Brewers did knock him around twice in early May, but Greene is a different guy now. For our best bets, we see him getting at least 7 strikeouts.
MLB Prop Pick: Greene Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-154) at BetOnline

Reds Prop Bet: Jonathan India
- Over/Under 0.5 Runs
Cincinnati is simply a different team with second baseman and reigning NL Rookie of the Year Jonathan India in the lineup.
He had missed about six weeks due to injury before returning Tuesday, and he has a hit in both games so far. India also is 4-for-7 with a double and walk career off Brewers starter Eric Lauer, who has a 5.05 ERA on the road this year.
Thus, I expect a decent run output for the Reds, and following the MLB odds, we like India to score at least one as the leadoff hitter.
MLB Prop Pick: India Over 0.5 Runs Scored (-130) at BetOnline

San Francisco Giants vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
Friday, June 17, 2022 - 07:05 PM EDT at PNC Park
Giants Prop Bet: Carlos Rodon
- Over/Under 6.5 Strikeouts
- To Record A Win
Really little doubt that the Giants win this game as the Pirates have dropped 9 of 10. Lefty ace Carlos Rodon (5-4, 3.18 ERA) is on the mound for San Francisco. After an absolutely dominant start to the season, he had a few iffy outings but was great last time out against a loaded Dodgers lineup, shutting them out on 2 hits with 8 strikeouts over 6 innings.
Rodon has a very favorable matchup here as the Pirates are third in strikeout rate and 26th in wOBA against left-handed pitching. Since May 20, they have had a 26.2 percent strikeout rate against lefties.
Overall, Pittsburgh has the second-highest strikeout rate in the majors at 25.1%, third-lowest on-base percentage, the seventh-lowest isolated power, and the second-fewest runs scored in baseball. Color me surprised if Pittsburgh reaches 3 runs in this game.
MLB Prop Pick: Rodon Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-159) at BetOnline

San Diego Padres vs. Colorado Rockies
Friday, June 17, 2022 - 08:40 PM EDT at Coors Field
Padres Prop Bet: Manny Machado
- At Least 2 Hits + Runs + RBIs
You could probably play a few Padres hitters tonight in Colorado, which has dropped three straight at home and starts lefty Kyle Freeland, who is 1-3 with a 5.35 ERA in Denver. Hitting conditions are going to be fabulous at Coors Field with temperatures in the 90s and winds blowing out to center at 10 mph.
Manny Machado is having an MVP-caliber season, batting .328 with 11 homers, 43 RBIs, and a .937 OPS. He’s coming off back-to-back three-hit games at the Cubs and had his 1,500th career hit on Thursday, joining an exclusive company of reaching 1,500 hits and 250 homers before turning 30: Only 17 players in AL/NL history have done it. Twelve of those players are Hall of Famers.
Machado is now more than halfway to two of the sport’s signature achievements -- 3,000 hits and 500 home runs and only turns 30 on July 6. He is 9-for-29 career off Freeland with 5 doubles and 4 walks, and on the season has a .323 ISO and .410 wOBA against left-handed pitching.
MLB Prop Pick: Machado at Least 2 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-271) at BetOnline
