There are 16 games on Tuesday’s MLB schedule, including a potential World Series preview between the Houston Astros and New York Mets. Here are today’s player props with MLB odds from BetOnline, one of BMR’s top-rated sportsbooks and betting sites

Houston Astros vs. New York Mets

Tuesday, June 28, 2022 – 07:10 PM EDT at Citi Field

MLB Prop Bet on Carlos Carrasco

  • Over/Under 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed

TBS has the national telecast of this potential World Series preview – Houston is a +550 third-favorite to win it all at BMR’s top-rated books and the Mets are fourth at +700.

Certainly would have to say that the starting pitching matchup Tuesday favors the Astros behind Framber Valdez (7-3, 2.90 ERA) against struggling Carlos Carrasco (8-3, 4.42 ERA).

Carrasco allowed five runs and three homers in 2.1 innings against Houston last Wednesday. Carrasco has an 8.78 ERA and 21 hits allowed in 13 1/3 innings over his past three starts

MLB Prop Bet on Jose Altuve

  • Over/Under 0.5 Runs Scored

Jose Altuve enters having homered in back-to-back games and has had career success vs. Carrasco, going 10-for-27 with a homer.

Altuve’s seven All-Star selections are tied with Craig Biggio for the most in franchise history, and I think it’s safe to say that Altuve will get No. 8 this year as he leads AL second basemen in most major offensive categories.

Altuve over 0.5 hits is quite expensive, so we’ll simply go with a run scored as I think he gets on a few times vs. Carrasco.

MLB Prop Pick: Jose Altuve Over 0.5 Runs (-110) with BetOnline

Baltimore Orioles vs. Seattle Mariners

Tuesday, June 28, 2022 – 10:10 PM EDT at T-Mobile Park

MLB Prop Bet on Robbie Ray

  • Over/Under 6.5 Strikeouts
  • Over/Under 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed

I am obligated to make a Robbie Ray prop pick whenever he pitches. Ray is starting to pitch like the 2021 AL Cy Young winner with the Blue Jays that he was with a 0.90 ERA, 20 strikeouts, and 10 hits allowed in 20 innings over his past three starts.

He's been much better at home this season overall with a 2.84 ERA, 48 strikeouts, and 31 hits allowed in 44 1/3 innings with a .193 batting average against. Baltimore ranks third in the majors in batting strikeouts with 679.

Keep in mind that if you are planning to bet the side on this game that the Mariners are without one of their best hitters in Ty France, who is on the injured list.

Outfielder Jessie Winker was suspended for seven games on Monday for his role in a benches-clearing brawl during the second inning of Sunday's game vs. the Angels.

In addition, fellow outfielder and AL Rookie of the Year candidate Julio Rodriguez got two games and shortstop J.P. Crawford five games. Those guys are all appealing, though, so they can continue playing until that appeal is heard.

Detroit Tigers vs. San Francisco Giants

Tuesday, June 28, 2022 – 09:45 PM EDT at Oracle Park

MLB Prop Bet on Carlos Rodon

  • To Record A Win?
  • Over/Under 4.5 Hits Allowed

Interleague series opener and it’s been well documented how bad the Tigers have been offensively this season. They rank 27th in team batting average at .226 and last with 216 runs scored.

They don’t have a single regular batting .300 and the team leader in home runs (seven) and RBIs (25) is free-agent bust Javier Baez. Spencer Torkelson was a top AL Rookie of the Year candidate entering the season but is batting .193 with 61 strikeouts and has been worth a negative 1.3 WAR.

Thus, I expect a dominant outing from Giants ace lefty Carlos Rodon (6-4, 2.70 ERA). This month, he’s 2-0 with a 1.20 ERA in five outings, not allowing more than two earned in any.

Rodon’s slider might be the best in the majors. Last time out against the Braves, he ended up throwing 47 of them and getting 13 swinging strikes, which tied a season-high.

Last year while with the White Sox, Rodon was 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA in three starts against the Tigers, allowing just five hits in 16 innings.
