The Dodgers will look to tie things up at two against the Braves in the NLCS. With a 20-game winner on the mound for the Dodgers, is there any hope for the Braves tonight? Let’s take a look at the MLB odds and decide which way to lean on BMR’s top-rated sportsbooks.

Atlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

Wednesday, October 20, 2021 – 08:08 PM EDT at Dodger Stadium

Probable Pitchers:

Braves: Bullpen Game

Dodgers: Julio Urias (20-3, 2.96 ERA)

The Dodgers were on the brink of going down 3-0 to the Braves in the NLCS. Then came a three-run blast from Cody Bellinger to the game in the eighth inning for the Dodgers. A couple batters later, Mookie Betts ripped an RBI double and the Dodgers went up 6-5 and never looked back.

Now it’s 2-1 in the NLCS and the Dodgers have the chance to tie the series up at two with Julio Urias on the mound.

Urias struggled in relief against this Braves team, going one inning while allowing three hits and two runs. He threw just 14 pitches, faced six batters and that was that.

The left-hander is likely capable of going 5 or 6 innings if he’s on his game but that relief appearance was on October 17, giving him less than five days of rest.

Meanwhile, the Braves have not announced a starter and could just go with a bullpen game. It’s not conceding but it’s close to it.

The Braves have choices to make. They can ride Huascar Ynoa, who went 4-6 in the regular season with a 4.05 ERA or they can look to start a lefty to keep batters like Corey Seager and Cody Bellinger in check like Drew Smyly.

If anything, I believe it’ll be Ynoa for the Braves, despite him allowing two runs and two hits in one inning of work against the Brewers last week.

Only Trea Turner of the Dodgers has faced Ynoa, from his time in Washington. He’s gone 2-for-9 with a double and two walks with just one strikeout.

Even if Ynoa doesn’t start, there’s a good chance he sees the bulk of this game. In the last 30 days, he has had an xFIP of 4.55 while allowing 25.6 percent line drives in that same time frame.

Ynoa has been rocked by lefties, allowing a wOBA of .532 and ISO of .545 in his last 37 lefties faced. Righties have a .172 ISO in their last 31 plate appearances against Ynoa.

The Dodgers will have a chance to tie things up at two in the NLCS with a 20-game winner in Julio Urias on the mound. Meanwhile, the Braves haven’t named a starter and will go with a pure bullpen game that will likely see Ynoa at one point in the game.

Lefties like Seager and Bellinger have been very consistent with power against righties and Ynoa has been absolutely rocked by lefties as stated above.

I like the Dodgers to flex their muscles tonight and breakout offensively whenever Ynoa and Smyly come into the game. So, for our MLB pick, there’s going to be plenty of power tonight and we’ll likely see the Dodgers tie this series up at two.
