The Sports Bookmaking Licences, which will be issued for a three year period commencing January 1 2006, will be subject to the terms and conditions that apply to Club Bookmaker Licences and to an annual performance review where any license could be revoked if the actual performance measured against the projections is not satisfactory.
“The licensing process has been a joint assignment between an RVL and Victorian Bookmakers Association working party which has involved a rigorous evaluation process,” said RVL Chief Executive, Robert Nason.
“This move provides the opportunity for Victorian Bookmakers to establish a dominant position in the global sports bookmaking market,” he added.
In separate news, Sportswinbet has been granted a gaming license by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission.
