The Greece-based lottery provider, through its subsidiaries Pollot and Intralot International, obtained the control of the Polish fixed-odds sports betting operator for €3.4m.
Totolotek has a network of about 400 agencies and in the first quarter of 2005 reported sales for €10.2m and earnings before taxes for €350,000.
Intralot plans to expand the number of outlets, while upgrading Totolotek\’s betting operation technological infrastructure, in order to play a major role in the growing Polish sports betting market.
“This acquisition aims to strengthen Intralot’s presence in the global marketplace,” said the company\’s CEO, Constantinos Antonopoulos.
