Victorian Gov. orders Sportsbet to remove rugby ad

Just as Australian bookmakers risk to see their ads banned from television, Sportsbet had a 170m by 90m sign painted on a field near Melbourne Airport.

The ad shows a wallaby and a lion in a compromising position with the slogan "Rooting for the wallabies" and is promoting Sportsbet in the lead up to the rugby union summer test series.

The Victorian Government ordered the Australian bookmaker part of the Paddy Power group to remove the giant rugby ad immediately as it's not the kind of advertisement Melbourne wants visitors landing into the city to see first.
