[h=1]WSOP Europe to begin in October in Czech Republic, guarantees €13 million prize pool[/h]
CDC Gaming Reports · June 11, 2018

The World Series of Poker Europe said Monday the 2018 tournament is headed back to the Czech Republic.

The WSOP announced it will make its permanent home at King’s Casino in Rozvadov. The event last year at the same venue featured more than €25 million in prize money and 7,689 entries.

The 2018 event will have 10 WSOP gold bracelets events. The tournament will include a €5 million guaranteed Main Event, a €5 million guaranteed High Roller and €3 million more in guarantees during poker’s largest European festival.

King’s Casino Rozvadov has Europe’s largest poker room and is located near the German border and a roughly two-drive from either Prague or Munich. The full casino includes two restaurants and a 218-room hotel.

WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart said the casino also has a “phenomenal cash game scene.”

“King’s Casino does everything big and first class,” Stewart said.

The first official gold bracelet event will begin on Oct. 9 with a €550 buy-in Colossus No-Limit Hold’em competition with eight starting flights and a €1 million prize pool guarantee. The tournament series concludes on Nov. 2 with the final table of the €10,350 Main Event that features a €5 million prize pool guarantee.

“It was a dream to host WSOP Europe and I can’t wait to do it again,” said King’s Casino owner Leon Tsoukernik.

“We hope everyone who came last year comes back for our warm hospitality and generous offerings, and for those who missed out, please join us for Europe’s biggest poker event of the year.”
