Tanko's MLB Plays 9/4/22

There are a couple of games I like on the card today.

First is Cincinnati vs Colorado. This is the first game of the double header.
This game starts in 10 min so I'll be brief.

Pitching is close between the starters
Cincy is hitting better of late. 0.264 vs 0.194 avg
Colorado sucks on the road -13 units this year.
Cincy as Home Fav usually wins by 0.5 rpg avg. Colorado as Road Dogs loses by 2.5 rpg avg.

I like Kansas City @ Detroit today. This looks like a toss up on the board KC +114, DET -126 but I think KCR is clearly the better team and will be playing the DOG for an edge.


Starting Pitching:
Castillo (KCR) vs Manning (DET)... 1.80 ERA vs 3.95 ERA respectively.

Batting:
Over the last 10 games. KC bats are a lot better.

• KC WRC+153, OPS 0.902, AVG 0.304
• DET WRC+ 94, OPS 0.664, AVG 0.240
• KC Is top3 in MLB in all 3 batting categories over last 7-10 days.

Over last few games KC is at 5.5 rpg avg while Detroit is at 2.5 rpg avg. I like to see at least a 2 rpg spread and we have ~3 for this game.

Relief Pitching:
Detroit does have an edge here 3.63 ERA vs KC 4.46 ERA

Cincy lost. Lodolo was pitching awesome 2 H in 6 innings 0 earned runs.

They bring in Kuhnel as the reliever to start the 7th. 8 pitches is all he throws. He hits the first batter, and gives up hits to the next two. WTF and colorado blows it open.
