Lines seem a little all over the place this week for some reason. Highlighting a few...

Bills at Patriots (+5)

Originally this was 5.5 but looks like bettors have taken advantage. Should be closer to a field goal, maybe 3.5. Bills are better and Patriots have limitations. I guess the short week advantage is out the window given they both played on Thanksgiving, but still seems a little lofty

Browns at Texans (+7)

I get Houston is a train wreck, but the Browns aren't much better. Are we certain that DeShaun Watson is all that great after so much time off? Maybe it's a "revenge" game for him, but I would tend to think the home team would be motivated to play against him. It's a shitty game to bet, but Cleveland shouldn't be laying 7 points to anyone -- home or away

Jets at Vikings (-3)

Y'all know how much I hate the Vikings, but this seems a little light. These are two teams not as good as their record. Jets off a win will probably come back down to earth...MIke White is still not very good. Kirk Cousins, with his faults, likes that 1pm slot. Feels like it's a little too low of a number

Chiefs at Bengals (+3)

I know it's come down to 2.5 at a lot of places, but still. I pegged this game as a Bengals fan looking at the schedule as one I didn't feel great about...but circumstances have changed a little bit. I think this should be a Pick 'Em -- feels like the definition of a coin flip game. I might have to bet the Bengals just based on the number. Might be the type of game you buy a point take Cincy at like +3.5

Saints at Bucs (-3.5)

I guess this isn't as bad as the others, but New Orleans is really a sad sack of shit team right now, no matter who plays QB. Bucs obviously had a tough loss, but they seem to have a lot more to play for going forward. Divisional games are tough but this probably should be 5 or 5.5.

Texans are bad. I know Browns are bad, but damn the Texans are really bad. I can't name one thing that I like about them.

What do I like about the Browns???
4 out of their 5 games they were competitive with good teams.
  • Ravens 23-20 Loss
  • Bengals 32-13 Win
  • Dolphins 39-17 Loss (not competitive)
  • Bills 31-23 Loss
  • Bucs 23-17 Win

Texans haven't been competitive in forever. 6 straight losses with only the Eagles game being competitive.
  • Raiders 38-20 Loss
  • Titans 17-10 Loss (Texans TD w/ 17 seconds left made it closer)
  • Eagles 29-17 Loss (this was their closest game in the stretch. They were tied at half)
  • Giants 24-16 Loss (FG w/ 7 seconds made it closer)
  • Washington 23-10 Loss (TD w/ 3 min left made it closer)
  • Maimi 30-15 Loss
Browns -7 is strange but I think they'll probably cover.

The Browns tend to play better in that underdog role though

Whhn they are expected to win (which isn't that often) or at least be competitive tends to be where they struggle.

Houston is bad, but I think they will be at least motivated to play this one game with DeShaun returning

I wouldn't be shocked if Texans win outright....or if Browns cover

I’m thinking the Browns line is built in & extended a bit based on DeShaun Watson coming back this week playing his old team. Leaning Browns, but I need -6.5 or no play, because I never really buy half points to pay more juice.

Chase is back for the Bengals. Apparently he could’ve played last week but didn’t

He absolutely demolished the Chiefs in the regular season last year
Great news for Bengals & company. This team is starting to find it‘s form. Watch out for them come playoff time.
