E% [BSB] (304105) Chunichi Dragons at (304106) Yomiuri Giants
Time: 4:45 AM EDT Yomiuri Giants -160
Analysis:
Yomiuri has every advantage in this one except bullpen but in Yamaguchi's last outing he went 8 innings allowing only 1 run to a better team than this. Chunichi SP Fukutani has a history of getting rocked by Yomiuri and this lineup is perhaps the best in the league. With huge SP and lineup advantages they only thing is to hope the bullpen doesn't crumble. Take Yomiuri on the money line anything -180 or better.

MONTREAL @ TAMPA BAY | 07/07 | 8:00 PM EDT
TAMPA BAY -220
ANALYSIS: Well, Tampa Bay Jane Castor got what she wanted -- in a rather unusual statement before Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final in Montreal, she said she preferred the Lightning not sweep the Canadiens and win the Cup on home ice in Game 5. Sure, fans think that way but never say it out loud. The Canadiens did save their season with a 3-2 overtime upset Monday. They were pretty fortunate to do so, having to kill off a four-minute Lightning power play that spanned late in regulation and about three minutes into OT. I thought the Bolts were going to win the Cup in that span. For some reason, overtime is Tampa's bugaboo as the team is 0-4 in playoff OTs this year. Montreal coach Dominique Ducharme had a few lineup changes for Game 4, but the Lightning won't be caught off guard again and will not want to go back to Canada. Tampa Bay has not dropped back-to-back playoff games in two years or even trailed yet at home in this series and has won eight games in a row at home vs. Montreal. It ends Wednesday. I would also lean the Under again, although once again I recommend buying up to 5.5 goals because so many playoff games do end right on 5.0 goals as Monday's did.

FEATURED PICK
ATLANTA @ PITTSBURGH | 07/07 | 12:35 PM EDT
PITTSBURGH +150
ANALYSIS: Early start in the series finale from Pittsburgh and the final game of the season between the clubs. A total of 52 percent of model simulations have the Pirates winning outright despite being +150 underdogs. Bucs starter Wil Crowe (1-5, 6.26) has struggled overall but has a solid 3.91 ERA in day outings spanning 25.1 innings. Atlanta is 1-5 in its past six on Wednesday.

MONTREAL @ TAMPA BAY | 07/07 | 8:00 PM EDT
MONTREAL +1.5
ANALYSIS: The first one-goal game of the 2021 Stanley Cup Final was Game 4 in Montreal, which the Canadiens won 3-2 in overtime. Nearly 65 percent of my model simulations forecast Montreal covering the +1.5 puckline (-145) as the Final returns to Tampa for Game 5 with the Lightning trying again to finish things off.

Joe Ds AL CENTRAL GAME OF THE WEEK
Game: (917) Chicago White Sox at (918) Minnesota Twins
Date/Time: Jul 7 2021 1:10 PM EDT
Play Rating: D units
Play: Chicago White Sox -123 L Lynn (RHP), M Pineda (RHP) Must Start
Chicago, perched atop the AL Central, has dominated the cellar-dwelling Minnesota team, taking 10 of their last 12 matchups. Lance Lynn is 8-3 with a 2.02ERA on the campaign and seems to be getting stronger as the season progresses. The 34-year-old owns a 1-0 record with a 2.38 ERA in three career starts vs. the Twins. The White Sox rank in the top-10 both on the mound and at the plate. The Twins are among the worst in baseball in team ERA (5.06) and have had serious problems driving in runs (4.64 RPG). Chicago is 6-2 L8 vs. RH star

DETROIT @ TEXAS | 07/07 | 2:05 PM EDT
TEXAS -140
ANALYSIS: Impressive Tigers rookie Casey Mize only will be allowed to pitch about three innings, as the team is being cautious with him. That means Texas will get more opportunities against a Detroit bullpen with the AL's worst ERA (5.18). Texas starts ace Kyle Gibson, who's 3-0 with a 1.53 ERA in six starts since coming back from the injured list a month ago. Lay it.

DETROIT @ TEXAS | 07/07 | 2:05 PM EDT
TEXAS -145
ANALYSIS: Both Larry and Kyle here at SportsLine got the Rangers are -140 today, but that number is gone. Texas starts shocking AL Cy Young candidate Kyle Gibson (6-0, 1.98), who leads the AL in ERA and 100 percent will be traded by the end of this month. He has a 1.80 ERA over his past five outings and is 5-0 with a 1.09 ERA at home. Detroit's Casey Mize (5-5, 3.55) has a ton of talent as a former No. 1 overall pick but his innings are being strictly limited this year, so he likely won't be out there more than five at the most and it could be as few as three depending on his pitch count. Texas is 6-1 in its past seven as a home favorite.

BOSTON @ L.A. ANGELS | 07/07 | 4:07 PM EDT
BOSTON -125
ANALYSIS: Andrew Heaney has struggled recently with a 5.67 ERA in June, and he allowed five home runs and 12 ER in his last two starts. Eduardo Rodriguez has pitched well his last couple starts but he had a 6.23 ERA in June. Both these teams are in the top 10 in wOBA against lefties but the Red Sox are 33-20 against lefties while the Angels are 20-28 against lefties. The Red Sox have the best road record in baseball and their bullpen has been lights out recently. I originally wanted to take the over but a getaway day game worries me a bit as players will be swinging early in counts. Take the Red Sox to win the rubber game.

DETROIT @ TEXAS | 07/07 | 2:05 PM EDT
TEXAS -145
ANALYSIS: Kyle Gibson has been one of the biggest surprises of 2021 and he will be one of the most coveted players at the trade deadline if he keeps pitching the way he is. He is 6-0 with a 1.98 ERA on the season and 5-0 with a 1.09 ERA in eight starts at home. Casey Mize was solid in June with a 3.82 ERA but only made it three innings in his last start. The Rangers are much better at home this season at 21-22 while the Tigers are 18-25 on the road.

MONTREAL @ TAMPA BAY | 07/07 | 8:00 PM EDT
TAMPA BAY -235
ANALYSIS: The Canadiens were lucky to have won Game 4 after blowing two 1-goal leads then needing to kill off a 4-minute power play at the end of regulation and OT to avoid the sweep. The Lightning head home where they will have the chance to clinch the Stanley Cup in front of their fans, something they weren't able to do in the bubble last year. The Lightning are the better team, and if you don't want to lay the juice the Lightning puck line at plus odds look good as well.

ATLANTA @ PITTSBURGH | 07/07 | 12:35 PM EDT
ATLANTA -145
ANALYSIS: Atlanta has lost the first two games of this series and scored just one run in each, but the Braves would appear to have a good shot of breaking out offensively today against Pirates starter Wil Crowe, he of the 7.06 career ERA in 58.2 big-league innings between last year and this. He allowed four runs and seven hits in Atlanta over five on May 20. Braves lefty Drew Smyly (6-3, 4.42) has won four straight starts, the longest such run of his career. He hasn't allowed more than two earned in his past five. Pittsburgh is 6-14 vs. lefties this year.
