today was a wild day and what better way to tell the story than with post #2000

well, first to plug myself. Check out my tennis thread, up over 1500 and only February. Tomorrow ill be doing a tennis video and i'll try to be doing them weekly. Previewing the weekly tournaments and giving predictions and then of course check out the daily thread for dsaily picks and any other random tennis conversation

ok so this morning it was -15 degrees in upstate NY. My jeep didn't start up right away, check engine light on and not fully on. I figured hey, no big deal, it's freezing weather, i get it. I had my brother drive me to work and I went to pick up my jeep around lunch time and figured I would get it to work and have them check battery/possibly replace battery

I live literally 7-8 minutes away from work. So around 1215ish I get to my house and bring a jump box and car starts up no issues. lights are on and power steering isn't great, but it's on and i knew i would just drive slow and make it back. Welp i was like 2 minutes away and at 25MPH the jeep just shut down, turned off, all the lights flashing and it's not moving. I somehow manage to get it into the median

So now I'm stuck in the median with 2 lanes going north and south and it's 55 MPH. Luckily I had a coworker right behind me in case this happened. So again, we jump start it and it starts right up....HOWEVER, this time as soon as we take the jump box off, the jeep starts fukking up and I can't move it. So now I have to try and drive the jeep while the hood is open and jumpbox on it. Needless to say, I was willing to gamble and do that, but it wasn't successful.

Sadly on weekends, we don't have a company tow truck, If this was M-F it would have been resolved in no time. So i call Chrysler roadside assistance and they say up to 4 hours to get a truck over there. Granted I get it, we have 20+ service calls today with similar issues. Irony is that tomorrow it will be 35 degrees again, but Friday and today were -10--15ish all night/morning.

So roadside isn't going to work and my company tow truck isn't operable today. So i tell my co-worker to go back to work and grab a 2nd jump box. Again I live close to work, within 15-20 minutes he's already down to work and back. We jump the jeep and now we walk the jeep at 3-4MPH with my buddy holding the hood down and jumpbox active on the jeep and I pull it into a business and maneuver through traffic.

Now I'm still only like 1-2 minutes away from home and ideally i'd like it parked in my driveway and not at some business. So we take the jimpbox off and this time the jeep didn't turn off. I'm like OHH SHIT....time to gamble.

So I gamble that the jeep will make it to my house or at least across the 5 lanes onto the side roads to my house rather than main road. I cross the 5 lines and the jeep won't go more than 12 MPH, but somehow it managed to get enough juice back to my driveway and safely.

I'm home now, I just took a lot car home for the weekend and ill have a tow truck grab it monday and replace battery, no big deal. But a wild story and event. The whole event was only like 90 minutes, but it was a fun afternoon to say the least

and then i sold a GC order. boom bang

happy saturday night

Congratulations on 2000 posts Sammy and wow what a story! Thankfully your coworker was behind you and was able to help you out. Hopefully it's nothing more serious than the battery
