Trainer Gerard Ochoa is up to his old act at Colonial. Has three wins in his last 10 starts: 57-1, 13-1, and 2-1.
Who knows when the ride ends, but he has one in today at 20-1…

Funny story about that. I had $0 in my horse racing account, but that morning I got a $20 bonus. Ochoa had two entered that day, so I bet $10 to win on each..

Yes. Once that meet ends, he’ll be backing dropping his bombs at Tampa in November. 4 out of 5 went off at long odds today. No dice, though. I’d bet him blind until the end of the meet. Meet ends on 9/7, so it’s a minor risk.

Interesting note about the race 5 entrant; horse is only 1 for 22 career BUT the only win came last year at Colonial, same distance and surface as today, at 19-1.

Before Colonial Downs starts, Ochoa making a pit-stop at Delaware Park. He ran third at 35-1 yesterday in his first start of the meet, so I have to stay alert.
he has one entrant today in race 8. Horse is 0-6 lifetime, but the interesting thing is that Ochoa hasn’t dropped it down a level. Every race has been in MSW company when he could easily get away with dropping into a maiden claimer and stealing a cheap victory. The fact that he has it in MSW company again today leads me to believe that Ochoa likes the horse’s ability and doesn’t want to risk losing him in a claimer. Fire away:
