Hello
I am a problem gambler who is still getting help for my addiction. I have previously self excluded for all sites including William Hill. Here is my dilemma:

I recently relapsed and had someone else create an account for me in their name, but used a card registered in my name to deposit funds. I have racked up a considerable amount of deposits, totalling £8,800. At no point have verification checks been carried out for the account holder, i.e. proof of id etc. They also should not have accepted deposits into the account from a card that does not match the account holders name. My question is would I be able to get a refund as they haven’t carried out their KYC checks properly? I know it is my responsibility and it is my problem that needs addressing. However, I am hoping for a lucky break and maybe get a refund. Please don’t shame me as this has been very hard for me to write and ask if anything can be done, and now I have to explain to my family I have relapsed, so shaming me will really not help - although I understand if people were to say “it’s your own fault”. As I say I am dealing with these problems and informed the account holder to not set any accounts up for me in future should I ever ask again. This amount was deposited with no form of contact in just 3-4 days

Thanks in advance for any help

Lizzy said right, you need to slow down, if you had the opportunity to have some help, then don't hesitate to pass all the course until the end. Otherwise, it can end super badly and you will regret about that your whole life. I know this because I had a few friends that fallen as gambling victims and they also ended very bad. I am also a gambler, but I look at this from another point of view. You come there for money, but I gamble on joker123 for fun. I remain with money and good mood. Btw, sometimes I can hit a good jackpot.

If the account is in someone elses name, who is not self excluded, there is probably no real recourse available.

I hope you will get a refund.
It is indeed annoying when such situations happen.
I also gamble, but I don't gamble with my money.
At least I avoided gambling with real money in the first period until making sure I deal with a reliable online casino.
On IGN88, I got a consistent sign-up bonus and raised a pretty good amount using it.
If you still want to try gambling, the online casino I play on would be the right choice.
It is indeed an excellent gambling site, where you don't have to worry about your account's safety.

What are the instances that sportsbooks will refund player's loss for this kind of claim?

They won't. Not willingly,

So many UK players think that will happen as the UK Gambling Commission basically lied to the public implying that is what would happen a few years back.

Penalties for self exclusion breaches are aimed at the operator. And do not call for a refund of losses to the player.

The only ways players who self exclude and then find a way back in would be refunded is via private legal action and only then if the court believes the book was negligent.

Having a friend make a fake account for you pretty much rules out negligence from the book in this case.

The only other viable route is asking IBAS to rule the bookmaker was negligent and to refund you. I have seen many people try that route but an not aware of anyone being paid that way.

Bottom line, if a player self excludes and then tries to get back in, they will almost never get their losses refunded. The worst that will happen is the bookmaker will be fined (rarely).

This is great information. Thank you, BMR Brad.

I know it's quite problematic, especially since psychologically you don't feel good about it. I had something similar, only I was ashamed of my parents, I was not married yet. The idea lies in the fact that each platform is formed in such a way that it is enormously difficult to return your money back in case of a mistake. Much depends on what platform you have chosen where to play. I lately use-- because here I once had an unpleasant situation and the platform administrator helped me get out of the mess. But if there really is no solution I think you will already have to talk to the family

I'm so sorry. If I were you, I would go to the police, for sure they often deal with fraud. I understand that you struggle with your passion and craving for games; it is really very difficult to resist. I also noticed that I visit Slot online too often to try my luck. Last month I spent too much money on games. Therefore, I began to record all my investments and winnings to keep statistics and not get carried away. Perhaps I need to stop for a while, but I don't think this has become my problem so far. In any case, I hope that your problem will be resolved.

I understand addiction, but I have no sympathy for the OP. Would this thread even exist if the account won? The guy is setting up an account under someone else and then trying to claim exemption for his own personal demons. OP wants a free shot at the Book, and shouldn't get away with it. Seek help.

In practice, the client submits a written application to describe the situation in detail. Let's say he discovered a suspicious purchase from a card (which he did not make), attaches the necessary screenshots, specifies the dates, and gives other facts.

"Hello,
I am emailing your customer service today to let you know that I deposited $10,000 into your casino and turned it into $50,000. However, due to my gambling addiction, I never should have made this deposit and kindly ask that you confiscate my $40,000 in winnings.

Thank you,
No Gambler Ever"
