Looks like he's already used to it.

I agree the trauma for the dog is just to get content views.. or maybe those pet parents don't realize the effect on the dogs.

Yeah, but still amazing and an "awwww" moment when you see the mom react like she does. She's protective but not aggressive. I haven't really seen that before. At least not like that.

That's the thing. It's like the mom knows not to be aggressive with the guy, so she turns to the only other way to protect.

That's a little odd, and I've trained a number of dogs and dealt with rescues that have been beaten.

Almost feel like the mom has been trained to put the paw up, then again, there is a look of learned helplessness in the mom.

I can only analyze what I see with what I know.

We had a yellow lab (RIP) that grew up with the kids. Whenever you were playing with the kids wrestling or something like that, the dog must have thought we were fighting because she would always push her head/body between us to try and separate us. Never biting anyone just trying to stop the "fight".

Dogs know. They know.
And Dogs are too good for us. We don't deserve how awesome they are.

Do you think the mom is getting a lot of hits and abused consistently and knows that if she's going to react she will just get another slap?

I was gone for a few days and I cannot wait to be back home to hug my baby again! They are the best creatures God has ever made.
