Love going trout fishing and usually geeked for opening day but didn't even get license yet(opening day Saturday).

Deep sea fishing/crabbing down Jersey Shore was the best. As a kid it was legal to crab/fish off the big bridge going into Seaside Heights. Would bring home ice chests full

Give me a case of beer and a pole and I'm good for the day on a boat in the bay or intercoastal.

That's right, you are near the gulf and the good seafood. I totally svcked when i moved to Florida and fished the gulf side. Everything was ass backwards. I would be catching catfish. i don't want catfish freshwater let alone saltwater. They would hammer the shrimp bait and you used a bobber. Totally different than the fluke, weakies, and seabass fishing i was use too

Many years ago when I was a little kid my grandfather used to take me to Point Pleasant in NJ surf fishing for Striped Bass. Now I live on the Fl gulf coast and surf fishing is a waste of time, the water is to shallow and you really need to get at least a mile un-regulated and know of a under water structure to catch anything worth keeping, snapper, grouper, sea bass, etc.

I've gone fishing in the SF Bay for a few years. Stripers and halibut. Mainly went because my son liked it. He's losing interest so I don't go much anymore.
