I like betting on Asian Handicaps and would am considering opening an account with SBObet. They are highly regarded on BookmakersReview for some time, but I would like to hear from players.

I have operated accounts at both SBO and 188. Both do offer competitive AH odds for football (soccer). For other sports they are not so competitive. However there is a big difference in the size of bets they will accept with SBO way out in front.

Further, based on my experience, 188 will reduce your bet limits if you show any sign of knowing what you are on about. My limits were halved, halved again and finally got so low that it was no longer worthwhile maintaining an account there. Based on reports I've read elsewhere that is common practice at 188, just as it is with all the Euro bookies. On the other hand, I've not read any reports of SBO limiting or banning players.

My advice would be to open accounts with both and avail yourself of the best odds you can get but be prepared to be shut out at 188 in due course. I've found both to be prompt with payouts (using Moneybookers) and no hassles dealing with either.

What are the best bookies for Asian handicaps? SBO? What else?

Matchbook is certainly worth a look. Frequently appears to have more liquidity than Betfair for handicaps, although mostly they quote only one line.

And Pinnacle of course.

Ive found both firms excellent. Big limits, quick payouts, small margins.
HOWEVER.....about a month ago I placed a bet of about 2000 at very low odds with 188bet. The bet won and 5 minutes later they emailed to say the bet was being cancelled as the odds were wrong!!
Fair enough if the odds were out of line they can cancel a bet, but they were about 1.09...other firms were 1.06 - so little difference.
But what really got me was they had 7 hours in which to cancel my bet yet they cancel it just after it wins. They had odds up for that same market right up until kick off as well. Very poor.

I do still use them but I steer clear of any non-asain type markets now.

That is just plain UNACCEPTABLE.
They have taken a free shot at you.
Would they have cancelled the bet had it lost?
At the very least they should have paid you at the correct odds.
I'd be lodging a complaint with their regulator over that.

Mikepcon,

we can speak to 188bet on your behalf. As Hareeba said it is unacceptable that they void the bet completely. If they don't want to pay at 1.09, they have to have a very good story and lot of fantasy, but at least offer to pay at 1.06.

It's either that or a a trip to the Orange list.

I actually haven't told the complete story as I was just giving a warning. the actual bets I did were on the two CL semis. I had
£3400 goal scored in first one @1.09
£5600 goal scored in second one @ 1.09
and a £380 double @ 1.08 & 1.09

The first one was tuesday and it was after the first goal was scored they emailed and voided all 3 bets.
After numerous email back and forth they still would not accept that the bet should have stood and didnt see anything wrong with voiding the bet.
As I am a longstanding customer they did agree to credit my account with £306 from the first single.

I am very wary of placing bets on anything but the standard asian markets with them now.

I opened a Singbet account through Asianconnect. There was one problem early on when the first account they opened was closed - so they had to open a new account - but a running bet stood when they [Asianconnect]told me it wouldn't.But they eventually honoured their original decision. Now everything is working fine - although I haven't withdrawn any money yet.
They only drawbacks are - no live betting [I don't bet live much anyway].Odds can change from the screen to when you confirm - although they warn you when they fall. They can still move - both up and down - until you click the confirmation button.Returns are credited overnight - by around 8.30 GMT - so your money can be tied up for up to a day.You get one free moneybookers/skrill deposit - deposits after that get charged - I think it was around 3%.
