This may just be me moaning, but i would like to hear others take on this..

I am a regular better on william hill, nearly 99% of my bets are on my mobile and are inrunning bets which i follow live on their mobile site.

Last night there was a game on there - Brazil U17 v Argentina U17.
William Hill were offering live betting on this game. I placed 2 bets (totalling £200) on the game after 49 minutes. About 5 minutes later, William Hill removed this game from inplay and it never returned (even though it was still live with every other bookmaker)
I normally place a few bets in running on one game and nearly always look to cash out etc.. obviously i didnt have this option and had no further option to place any further bets on the game. Both bets they declared as losers (rightly so) after the game. I'm pretty sure if these would have won they would have voided these.

Am i right to be annoyed about how they advertise it as inplay and then cancel it after 50 minutes, right after i had placed a couple of bets with the idea of placing further and reducsing liability by cashing out etc (which i do with them on most games)

Bookies usually have a term in relation to live betting that they may remove markets at anytime. Paddypower have this term and remove inplay markets alot, so do Betfred.

There could be other reasons why the markets / cashouts were removed. A William Hill trader may have decided that your account is unprofitable for them and have blocked you from inplay betting / cashing out. Have you looked to see if you can place in play bets after this game, and if the cashout function is available. I have heard of some American bookies blocking certain accounts from live betting.

The only other reason I can think of is that William Hill took a suspiciously large volume of bets on a particular market on the game and decided to pull the entire live betting market.

I don't think there is alot you can do other than email or phone them and ask why. But they'll probably just refer you back to terms and conditions.

If this is how you usually bet, why don't you just use one of the exchanges? You are effectively trading, which is what betting Exchanges are for. Your bets weren't large, so there probably would have been enough liquidity on betfair for you to have done this.

There are no restrictions on my account and i have since been able to bet on other markets. They just effectively removed that game. I do use betfair as well, but to be honest im not a trader, i dont bet to win money its more of a hobby, it sounds sad but i like to have a bet online inplay and follow the live match commentary on William Hill (which i obviously couldnt do yesterday) i have emailed them. Doubt i will hear anything back. Like i said its probably just me moaning. Although my account is definately profitable for them! haha

They could have just removed the game as a precaution [eg due to unusual betting patterns].You have to live with/allow for that possibility when betting live.Of course,if it had been a big game involving British or even major European clubs it is highly unlikely that they would have removed it.

You might hear back, you might not - If there was a security / fraud issue - such as taking a suspiciously large amount of bets on the game on certain markets, then they will be unlikely to say anything to you.

If this is how you like to bet, try and choose better events (well, more popular) in the future as these are less likely to be subject to match fixing or targets for dodgy betting patterns. Markets / live betting is less likely to be pulled as Trevrizent pointed out above.

You might be annoyed, but it's also good to point this out as others may read this and also wonder why this has happened.

Can you only listen to the event if you bet on it??? Have you tried bet365? Their football odds are generally the best as far a most online bookies go and they also have a lot more live streams for events you bet on. Failing that you can always look for a free online stream and use any bookie you want!
