Borussia Dortmund have it all to do in this Champions League last 16 tie. They lost the first leg at Wembley 3-0 and without a possibly vital away goal in the bag, the last thing they can afford to do is concede a goal. Tottenham haven’t been in the best of form since the first leg but surely they have to reach the quarter finals.

Last season everything seemed to go wrong early on for Borussia Dortmund. They struggled in the Bundesliga and failed to make it out of their Champions League group. This time around it’s been a different story, virtually a mirror image.

Dortmund opened up a big lead in the Bundesliga and had few problems reaching the last sixteen of the Champions League. However, they enter March only ahead of Bayern Munich on goal difference and 3-0 down after the first leg of this last 16 tie.

A 2-1 defeat at Augsburg on Friday evening has seen them drift out to 9/4 (3.25) at BetVictor to win the Bundesliga. They have only won one of their last five league games and have to regain their pre-Christmas form if they are to avoid being knocked out of the Champions League in this game.

Dortmund won two of their three home group games and are yet to concede a Champions League goal at home this season. One of those games was a 4-0 home win against Atletico Madrid. A repeat of that performance would do nicely on Tuesday. It’s evens (2.0) at Unibet that Dortmund win this second leg.

Can they win with such a score line that they make it into the quarter-finals? You can get odds of 9/1 (10.0) at Betfair on them qualifying for the last eight.
Tottenham didn’t do too bad without Harry Kane and bizarrely results haven’t gone well since his return. Three Premier League games have produced a single point and their dreams of winning the title are all but over. It could have been worse if Arsenal hadn’t missed a late penalty on Saturday.

With Spurs out of both domestic trophies, the Champions League is now their only hope of a trophy this season. They are 16/1 (17.0) at Betway to win the Champions League but at the end of the day, this is a cup competition not a league and anything could happen.

The Londoners haven’t won an away Champions League game since that beating Dortmund away in 2017.

Tottenham have played seven games in the Champions League this season and leaving early has never been a good idea. Their games have seen 10 goals scored in the last 15 minutes of the game.

Tottenham will probably wind up nicking a goal or two and the tie will basically be over - partly due to the away goals rule.Scoring on the break is a large part of what the Premier League is all about. So they should be able to transfer that to the Champions League, given their 3-0 lead.
