  • Friday is a full 15-game slate, featuring the final six home openers. There are two matinees and two twilight starts, leaving an 11-game main DFS slate. One of the day games is the first game of the season at Fenway Park with Joe Ryan taking the hill for the Minnesota Twins to be opposed by Nick Pivetta (35% rostered in ESPN leagues). Pivetta won't be available for many DFS contests, but streaming him and backing the Red Sox could prove profitable. He's one of the few starters to work into the sixth inning so far and Boston's bullpen is rested. The Red Sox offense came alive at the end of their season-opening road trip, and they usually take it to another level at home.
  • Brad Keller (7.7% rostered) is another strong streaming candidate. Since the Kansas City Royals entertain the Detroit Tigers on the evening slate, Keller doubles as a solid DFS play. The Tigers lineup is improved, but it's still in the process of gelling. Notably, the team is fanning at a 27% clip in the early going. In Keller's first start of 2022, he limited the Cleveland Guardians to just two hits and a walk over six scoreless frames, fanning five.
  • As he wasn't needed in relief on Thursday, Ross Stripling will take the hill for the Toronto Blue Jays when they entertain the Oakland Athletics. Toronto wants to give their starters an extra day off, so they'll treat Friday as a bullpen game. As such, Stripling will not muster the five innings needed to earn a win, offering up a chance for a reliever to vulture a victory. The best candidates are Trevor Richards, Julian Merryweather, Adam Cimber, David Phelps, and Trent Thornton. Highest priority does to those who didn't end up working on Thursday night.
    • Friday marks the long-awaited debut of MacKenzie Gore (8%) as he's slated to start at home against Kyle Wright (34%) and the Atlanta Braves. That said, even though he's on the road, Wright is the better streamer and DFS option as the San Diego Padres offense has been slow out of the gate. Wright was stellar in his 2022 debut, whiffing six Cincinnati Redsin six shutout innings, issuing just two hits and a free pass.
    • The new dimensions in Camden Yards will be put to the test with the homer-prone Jordan Lyles and the Baltimore Orioles welcoming the New York Yankees into town for a weekend series. The visitor's lineup is very right-handed, so they should be hurt by the renovation. That said, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton are adept at going the other way, not to mention are used to deep left-field dimensions in their home park. Pairing those two sluggers with lefty swinging Anthony Rizzo makes for a potentially productive DFS stack.
