HELP!!!!!
Yesterday 27th February 2016, I won £18000 on a 12 team accumulator for football, everything was legit.
I withdrew the money last night but left £800 to play with and did so on poker(£200).
Today (28th February) I placed a £10 bet then my account got frozen!
I spoke to customer services and they had said I am not entitled to my winnings as there is a duplicate account,
I did not set up this account but it is all my details.
My question is can they do this even though In the past year they have taken money and paid money from
The account that has been frozen.
I feel like because it's a big win they don't want to pay out.
Both accounts have exactly the same details and emails, in my eyes they should have stopped the most recent
Winning account from being set up........ Am I right and do I have any chance of getting my winnings.
Please Someone shed some light on this for me..... What can I do.

Yes I am 100% certain I didn't set it up but it's all in my details. Both accounts are exactly the same apart from the bank account being a different bank.
I have been using my winning account since 2014. So they have been happy to take money and pay money into my account for over a year, and now that I have had a big win they have only just said I have a duplicate account so I am not entitled to any of my winnings, I will only get my deposited amount back.
Surely this should have been stopped a long time ago and my account frozen with it being duplicated, or even it should never have happened in the first place with the initial setup. Otherwise to me it's theft from coral as they did nothing to stop it before hand but we're happy to keep taking my money.
The duplicate account was apparently setup in 2012, and as I say I have no knowledge or records of it.
I just feel I'm being done over here. That win would've changed my life.
Is there anything I can do or someone I can talk to?

Yes, there is a bunch of things you could do. I'm asking the questions to try and work out which would be best.

Assuming the other account was dormant I agree it does not seem fair to be trying to enforce a duplicate account rule as reason to confiscate your balance.

Are you just trying to claim you didn't open the other account as you think it might help you get paid? Because I can assure it doesn't help in any legal sense and actually only casts doubt about the situation.

Why would anyone open up an account in your name to start with, and if the bank account attached is not yours it should be a simple matter to see who did open it. Could it have been a partner or family member who wanted two accounts for themselves? It would be easier to advise you if we knew more about the role of this account in the book's decision.

Coral probably thinks that some type of nefarious activity is going on to take this action I would guess. I think you will find it is more than some unused duplicate account once you start pushing about it.

Here is what you can do;

1) I would approach a lawyer about arguing the matter for you for this amount and considering how they are acting. You can do this yourself but trying to rely on the regulatory bodies to decide an appeal you submit yourself is rather hit n miss. A lawyer may be able to resolve the issue directly with Coral and if not, an appeal to the regulator coming from a legal rep will be taken much more seriously. If you know that you have definitely done nothing wrong it's well worth paying the few hundred quid for a consultation and a couple of letters. If you don't want to risk more money then if you ring around you can likely find a firm who take the matter on contingency (pay a percentage of recovered funds if you win). But they will want at least 20% that way. Better just to pay hourly.

2) You can lodge an appeal with www.ibas-uk.com. You can do this yourself if you wish but consider what I said above.

3) You can ask the European Commission to try to mediate the dispute http://ec.europa.eu/odr but I'm not sure if Coral respects their decisions or not like they do with IBAS.

4) You can submit a complaint form to us and we can try to reach out to Coral on your behalf. Not very confident they will discuss it with us but willing to give it a try for you.

But I would not muck around if I was you. Just find a lawyer and let them decide the best way to proceed.

I've been told by coral that the duplicate account is All In my name.
I don't know if it's used or not, I know nothing about it.
I don't have the cash to pay for a letter from a lawyer either.. I'm in a situation I know nothing about and fear I've lost the most amount of money I have ever had in reach.
I am more than happy to make a complaint through here and the IBAS as well as talking to a lawyer.

You say that the bank details on the second account are different from those on your winning account (i.e. it is a different bank). Assuming that these details are correct and are yours, how could Coral have known about the different bank details if you hadn't told them yourself? That said, I don't think much of their behaviour and it sounds as if they are trying to find any old excuse not to pay you your legitimate winnings. Despite what you say above, I agree that a lawyer really is your best option here.

I have spoke to coral and am waiting for a final verdict from their account service management team.
I went to a lawyer today for info but had no result in speaking to them..... So I have to sit it out till I get a yes or no in regards of receiving the winnings or not.
I see it as they are at fault in letting the duplicate account being set up, taking my money for over a year & paying out small winnings to.
They were happy to accept the bet and we're happy to honour the winnings, but then changed their mind 12 hours later.
I said to them it sounds like they are avoiding paying out a substantial amount after all of the above.
I'm not going to let I lie!
I will get a result and keep all informed!
Thank you to all for the input and knowledge.
Please keep posting as any more info is very valued.!

Is it at all possible that in 2012 you changed your mind about which bank to use when setting up the account, but accidentally wound up sending your details naming the other bank account without realising you had done so ? Try to establish whether the first account was entirely inactive. If no deposit was ever made on it,and no bets were placed,Coral should be more understanding.Try checking back for any emails
confirming the opening of the other account.

Great to hear you spoke to a lawyer! Smart move.

I did not realize Coral had not made a decision on this yet. Lawyer is right. Not a lot can be done before they do.

Hopefully the duplicate account issue was just a low level person spotting a rule breach and now someone more senior will assess if it is material in the matter.

Fingers crossed.

Quincunx makes a good point. If you can clearly demonstrate that the earlier account has never been used (i.e. you have never made a deposit or placed a bet there - or have never even attempted to do so), then that will definitely strengthen your case.
