Hi Guys

Any help welcomed. I have read a few similar threads about self exclusion, and refunds but mine is slightly different.

I have a gambling problem and I lost a lot of money with betway. I rang up and closed my account because I wanted to stop betting, and I didn't want to have an account. I did this on the 22nd April.
This was done without any questions.
However, they kept emailing me asking me to send documents so they could send me my outstanding withdrawal. I didn't have any withdrawals outstanding so I ignored them.
However a few weeks later, intrigued, when I looked into this on online chat with them, they said I had £8k due to be withdrawn, and if I sent them documentation I could have this. I sent all the documentation, they reopened my account but didn't send the withdrawal back into the account as I they had got mixed up, this was a withdrawal I had reversed weeks before. I just wanted to get this cash, but now I had an account reopened I didn't want to use.
Since then I have lost a lot of money, in the 30k region and they made me a VIP client etc to make me feel wanted. I feel I was taken advantage of as I didn't even want to reopen the account. Should they have reopened it? I believe I should be allowed any deposits I made in the time since the reopening refunded.
I have started proceedings and they have confirmed that my account was closed because I wanted to stop betting and they were already very sketchy about me discussing the reopening.
I would be interested to hear your thoughts. Any help is much appreciated.
Many thanks

Hi.You do not say anywhere that you told them that you had a gambling problem.Without that info,I am afraid they were entitled to allow you to bet using the re-opened account. The business about the pending withdrawal and money left in the account does sound suspicious, but you cannot prove that they were deliberately misleading you.

Having said that,if you have the time, you could go digging around in the forums to see if there are any false 'you have money in your account' stories involving Betsafe - you could try using search engines to help you.If you find any,you could try telling Betsafe that you think they misled you deliberately because it looks like they've told people that before. That might not get you anywhere - too much money involved.

a closed account can be reopened. why should that not be possible?
bookmakers have very clear rules about gambling addiction and closing accounts in such cases.
You should have clearly said that you have a gambling problem and that your acccount should be closed due to a addiction. Than a reopening would not have happend.

Anyway you should look for serious help, as there are so many bookmakers online, that if you are not constant it will only take a few minutes to open a new account at any other bookmaker and start playing again.

search help, and let yourself be helped.
