Hi everyone, first post and unfortunately it's not really a straight forward one. Now I accept I've got issues here and I accept there's blame attached to me - but if possible, I'm just looking for some advice.

I've been battling gambling issues for a substantial period of time and have registered with GamCare.

Things were going fine until I signed up for Karamba yesterday using my partners details, it was fairly straight forward - I used my own Skrill account and submitted her documents along with my own ID as I thought this would be required for verifying Skrill.

Now in my past experience the payment method and name on the account has had to match, I suspected this would be the case with my withdrawal here too, but submitted in hope rather than expectation.

Then addiction and greed set in, £1000 profit turned to losses. I submitted my self exclusion email to Karamba as a cry for help essentially, but the only reply I got was an email to verify the account this morning.

This led to more deposits and more losses today, before finally contacting Karamba to have the account closed and brought the information I'd provided to their attention.

I feel though that all my details should have been flagged, the driving licence, the exclusion email and also the IP address should have been picked up. I also am sure they'd have noticed this if I'd won.

I don't hold out much hope for my losses to be returned, but I do feel Karamba has neglected a duty of responsibility - especially contacting after I'd sent on my exclusion email and all my ID.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Have you asked GamCare about this yet?

It's kind of complicated so I think it would take someone like GamCare or IBAS telling them they should be refunding you to be successful here.

The signup in your partners name will probably negate liability, but refund of deposits made after you requested self exclusion directly to them sounds like a reasonable request.

Poor attempt at getting a free roll. You know that you have an issue and yet you used your partners information to lose the money. You took a chance lost and now are upset. You wont see any money back at you . This is a poor attempt to game the system. Welcome to the world of no accountability.

Knowing that I have an issue and battling the issue are both very different things. There's very little logic behind it, I knew I'd have to verify the account and ultimately would unlikely have my withdrawal approved - but I have an addiction - it's an absurd mindset, but it was done as I was chasing the opportunity to gamble.
