  • Winner.com complaint

I have been a customer of winner.com for a few months and was told I was invited to their VIP scheme. As part of that this weekend I received a promotion saying that I would receive matching free bets upto £500 per premier league match if I bet on the away team and they lost. I did a few but not all matches and was allowed £500 on every time I tried. I now have 2 £500 free bets in my account from the weekend and I am due another. However when I tried to place a bet on tonight's premier league I received an error message saying I was limited to £27. I've since tried to place bets on many other sports and football at low odds. I've even tried SP horse bets and football accumulators but I can barely get £100 on anything even at very low odds. There is nothing on the site I can bet the free bet tokens on and they cannot be split. They only imposed these limits once I had placed the qualifying bets. All I did was participate in an offer they emailed me specifically inviting me to and they have pretty much reneged on it. The odds were not even that good compared to other UK sportbooks. I have contacted my VIP manager but he says there is nothing he can do. I have also asked him to escalate the dispute to management but they have told him there's nothing they will do.

  • What seems totally unfair to me is that on the same Premier League market Winner allowed £500 when you bet with your own money and only £27 when you tried to use the free bet.

Surely if the trading department imposed bet limits on you, Winner should have known better and not offer you the free bet in the first place.

Right now this looks like a "bait and switch" offer.

Anyone else had (or heard of) a similar experience with Winner.com?

    • Yeah obviously sportsbooks limit and have a right to but what they have done here is limit me the day after the period to place qualifying bets. I have tried to submit a complaint with SBR but they pretty much told me it's within the bookmakers rights to limit customers without considering the poor timing of this incident. To me this is no better than the likes of sportingbet withholding freebets.

      • You need to consider that Winner.com is a new sportsbook with a big marketing budget so SBR is probably doing its job...as an affiliate.

And my question there is: what does SBR have to do for players to realize that they first care about lining their pockets and only subsequently look after the player interests?

Going back to your issue, Bookmakers Review will speak to Winner as we need to have both sides of the story, but personally I have no reason to believe that you are making up any of your claims.

And if Winner cannot offer the same betting limits on Premier League matches for both your bets and the free bets, then we'll reconsider their rating.

        • Thank you that's much appreciated. I understand SBR primarily looks after its sponsor bookmakers but I thought it worth a try to report it there as well as here.

No argument there: as a player with a problem you should report it to as many review sites as possible, but to be honest my question was meant to be a rhetorical question for the players community at large as I don't understand why the SBR Forum is so busy despite them not really caring for players.

            • Do you have a rough idea of when you will be able to get back to me? 2 of the 3 freebets expire tomorrow so I'm concerned they could say its tough if that time frame passes.

              • I was actually supposed to be on holiday so I've asked my business partner to contact Winner, but in all honesty it's unlikely that we'll get a reply during the week end.

                  • @qunicunx - BetBright are also listed on oddschecker strangely as well.

Bank holiday in the UK today. Winner have said that head of CRM is investigating.

They have asked BMR to publish a statement but since the statement does not address imho the issue of the complaint and raises even more questions, I have invited one of their representatives to join the forum.

Hopefully he'll post Winner's official position on the case today, then together we'll address the statement.

                          • Doesn't look like they're going to post here. Thanks for trying anyway, I appreciate it,
