Bet365 is one of the largest bookmakers in the world, offering a huge range of sports betting, casino and other games to bettors in around 200 countries. It was started by Denise Coates in a portakabin in Stoke-on-Trent in 2001 and has developed into a multinational that employs 3,000 people worldwide, with annual revenue of more than £1.5 billion. It was a pioneer of in-play betting and continues to invest in cutting edge software to handle high volumes of player traffic with ease. Football is a crucial part of its sports betting offering and it invests heavily in advertising during Premier League matches. The Coates family even owns a Premiership team, Stoke City FC. Players can benefit from various free bet offers throughout the year as Bet365 regularly provides incentives to join its vast customer base.

Features
Bet365 brought in Hollywood star Ray Winstone to back a huge marketing campaign promoting its in-play betting options, and continues to pour money into championing this burgeoning sector of the market. Thanks to its cutting edge proprietary technology many players find Bet365’s in-play offering the best in the world, and it accounts for more than half of the bookmaker’s revenue. It offers thousands of betting markets on a weekly basis, serving 21 million customers.

Technology
Bet365 uses live stream technology to allow customers with money in their accounts to watch multiple matches at once, allowing them to keep abreast of the action in various matches while making rapid in-play bets. It plays more than 70,000 live stream events per year, including many obscure sporting events like lower league football and ATP tour matches. Its private cloud software allows it to handle thousands of changes per second and deliver a constant stream of real time information – correct to within under two seconds – while concurrently processing a large amount of customer data coming in. It has a Thawte SSL Web Server Certificate, proving that it offers secure communications by encrypting all data to and from its site. It operates a one-wallet system, allowing customers to use the same username, password and payment method for sports betting and to play casino, games, Vegas, poker and bingo rooms. The transition from desktop to tablet to mobile is seamless.

Ownership, licensing and disputes
Bet365 is 50.1% owned by Denise Coates and her father Peter acts as chairman. It is licensed and regulated by the British Gambling Commission, holding a current licence #000875. The UK Government established The Gambling Commission under the 2005 Gambling Act to regulate online sports betting. Bet365’s casino and poker platform are licensed and regulated by the government of Gibraltar. Bet365 is affiliated with the Independent Betting Adjudication Service (IBAS) and agrees to abide by its decision on any dispute that may not be resolved to a player’s satisfaction. IBAS is a third party organization that settles disputes between players and registered bookmakers. Additionally, Bet365 says it prides itself on its speed, efficiency and friendliness when dealing with any questions or queries that may arise.
