UFC in Vegas 29 Parlay Picks: The Perfect Parlay (Archive)

Originally published on June 16, 2021

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Las Vegas for an eventful night of mixed martial arts combat. The UFC odds are now available for us to delve into some perfect parlay betting picks for UFC in Vegas 29 – headlined by featherweight contenders Chan Sung Jung and Dan Ige competing in the UFC featherweight rankings.

Dhiego Lima vs. Matt Brown

UFC Welterweight Bout

Saturday, June 19, 2021 – 11:35 PM EDT at UFC Apex

The Fighters

Matt Brown is undoubtedly a legend in the world of mixed martial arts but fighting into your forties is no easy task. And I do not want to overly critical of “The Immortal” because he fared well during his previous bout versus Carlos Condit. However, the competition level was fair as Condit is another aging veteran. When pitted against young studs like Miguel Baeza, Brown’s speed and longevity issues begin to play out.

Dhiego Lima is looking to bounce back after a fifteen-minute war with Belal "Remember the Name" Muhammad, and a loss in said situation is nothing he should dwell on. Belal is a current top contender, and Lima should find solace in knowing the level of competition has dropped. Brother of Bellator champion Douglas Lima, maybe thoughts of revenge are on the mind of Dhiego as Matt Brown finished his brother via knockout back in 2007.

The Perfect Parlay Pick

I’m not particularly interested in picking a side, although I believe that Lima should have an edge through youth, experience and durability. Brown has been known to crumble under body-shots in recent years, which could be the perfect game plan for Lima.

I don’t think the judges will be involved this weekend; both men own the ability to finish a fight, and given the durability of Matt Brown, the under market is providing the value I’d rather side with. The available odds with BookMaker are fair, and we’re even being gifted with plus money on this prediction.

Sergey Spivak vs. Aleksei Oleinik

UFC Welterweight Bout

Saturday, June 19, 2021 - 11:35 PM EDT at UFC Apex

The Fighters

The heavyweights are out to play in this week’s co-main event, as we look towards another aging fighter who’s reaching the end of his career.

Aleksei Oleinik is a grappling veteran with over 70 professional contests on his record. Most known for his savage Ezekiel choke and a long list of submission finishes, it became easy to break down his martial arts contests because he presents one path to victory – grapple and submit.

Sergey Spivak is a young up-and-coming heavyweight who suffered a handful of defeats during his early UFC career but has since evolved his skillset and looked great in the meantime.

Perfect Parlay Prediction

Another young up-and-coming heavyweight, Chris Daukaus, exposed Oleinik in the stand-up area during the Russians previous fight. Without a grappling offence or a limb to grab hold of, Oleinik’s offence becomes useless.

The game plan for Spivak is simple, strike and range whilst landing a high output to make Oleinik uncomfortable. Something I believe the 26-year-old can achieve.

Perfect Parlay Prediction: Sergey Spivak to win at -230 with BookMaker
