UFC Lightweight Bout

Mason Jones made his UFC debut with a level of hype surrounding him; the Welsh native was boasting a 10-0 undefeated MMA record and came up against a well-versed, well experienced Mike Davis. Upon losing this contest, we could take plenty of positives from Jones; he made an excellent account for himself against a fighter who had already fought the likes of Gilbert Burns. Contrary to the judge's scorecard, I believe that fight was a lot closer than a unanimous decision and feel like a split decision may have been more suited.
Brazilian brute Alan Patrick has been competing for the UFC since 2013, but his lack of in-octagon activity has undoubtedly weighed on the experience he should have gained. A two-year layoff in 2016 saw Patrick return in 2018, to then become inactive for another two years. Now riding a two-fight losing streak aged 37, his work will be cut out for him against a young and hungry Mason Jones.
The false narrative that British fighters cannot wrestle is slowly becoming thought of in the past. Jones is a complete fighter with former boxing and wrestling experience in his history. Jones required a tough test for his UFC debut, and he was undoubtedly gifted that in Mike Davis, the drop in competition should favour Jones this time out as we believe a dominant outing could be on the cards.
The extended combinations of Jones are a thing of beauty; his clean boxing work should do numbers on the slower fighter in Patrick. The available UFC odds with Bookmaker Review opened at -250, and this price continues to drift away from the value. Take Jones and take him early before the betting public continues to pounce.

UFC Middleweight Bout
Saturday, June 5th, 9:00 PM EDT the Apex Centre
Dusko Todorovic entered the UFC middleweight roster with a high ceiling, and he certainly proved his worth when finishing Dequan Townsend via ground and pound strikes. However, the ceiling was slightly lowered by critics when Punahele Soriano finished the Serbian prospect inside the first round. Spectators of the sport are often very quick to flip their opinion, but we should not neglect the talents Todorovic has put on display.
Sure, Todorovic was knocked out for the first time during his professional career last time out, but this is the fight game, and 90% get caught occasionally. I see this outcome as a learning curve; before the knockout, Todorovic was complicated to hit as he always is. A fluid movement on the feet combined with a poised calmness is some of the reasoning behind the mans 10-1 record. Before the initial knockout, Soriano was punching the air, and it wasn't until Todorovic was damaged that he could find success.
I anticipate an overzealous Gregory Rodriguez to attempt the same ruthlessness that Soriano dished out, but I believe this will backfire as Soriano's power is something special. Todorovic has a great grappling offence to match his well-versed striking output and will give the Brazilian debutante difficulty on the effective strike counter. Fellow newcomer to the UFC Jordan Williams handled Rodriguez with ease, so I do not believe for one minute that Todorovic isn't the more talented of the two. Of course, talent does not always translate during MMA bouts, but I always side with the more well-rounded fighter.
