With Cam Newton returning at quarterback for the Panthers, is there value with Washington on the road? Will the Lions get past a tie and earn their first W of the season?
Here are a couple of underdogs to look at for Week 11 so let’s go over the NFL odds for them.

I have no idea what’s up with the Cleveland Browns, but lately, the performance just ain’t it. The Browns are trading wins for losses and have been extremely inconsistent this year. At 5-5, Browns fans should be excited. With a 45-7 loss to New England, the Browns are looking lost. Sure, Nick Chubb should be back in the lineup at running back, but Chubb’s absence isn’t the reason why the Browns lost 45-7.
Meanwhile, the Lions are 0-8-1 and haven’t won a game all year. However, they’ve been extremely close to winning a game almost every single week. The Lions figured out how to run the ball last week against the Steelers and almost achieved 250 rushing yards on the Pittsburgh Steelers. You never know what you’re going to get out of the Lions, but one thing you can never question is their heart.
The Lions bring it every single week and deserve recognition for that. They’ve lost (or tied) in many games this season and are getting really close to that first win. With the way things have gone for the Browns, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Lions hold on and beat the Browns, on the road. It sounds radical but there’s a legitimate chance. The Lions aren’t finishing this season 0-17.

I, for one, love Cam Newton. But let’s hold off on making the Panthers favorites with Newton under center. I’ll have an interest in this game to watch Newton perform as the starter as everyone else will. This is awesome: Cam Newton is back with the Panthers. But we can’t get lost in the fact that Washington just knocked off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and have lots of momentum moving forward.
Washington, even at 3-6, is the better football team. Although Chase Young is out for the season, Washington’s defense wants to step up in his absence. Also, let’s not forget about how well Washington game-planned against the Buccaneers. The final drive last more than 10 minutes so that Washington could upset Tampa Bay and not allow Tom Brady the ball again in crunch time.
Both teams are scoring about 21 points per game. With Newton under center might not add more points and it certainly won’t add more yards in the air. The running game for Carolina should be really good, except for the fact that Carolina’s offensive line hasn’t been great in run protection all year.
I’ll admit, I want Newton to succeed and dominate in Carolina, but I also have to think logically here and realize that Washington is the better team with a solid rushing defense and an offense that has momentum moving forward so I like them for my last NFL pick.
