The Los Angeles Dodgers took care of business on the road in Game 1. They’ll look to continue that momentum in tonight’s Game 2 matchup in the NLCS against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Los Angeles will send Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the hill. He’s a right-handed ace who has been incredibly good all season long, per the analytics. Meanwhile, he’ll battle Freddy Peralta of the Brewers, who has really struggled against lefties over the last month.
There’s a legitimate reason to believe the Dodgers can get ahead in this series 2-0. Let’s talk about it.
In tonight’s game, I’m targeting some of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ hitters, specifically the lefties. Freddy Peralta has struck out only 17.1% of lefties over the last 30 days, while allowing a .387 ISO and wOBA of .395.
Ultimately, Freddie Freeman has been hot for the Dodgers. He even hit a home run last night. But Shohei Ohtani hasn’t performed up to expectations. That could change heading into tonight’s game.
Overall Record: 3-3, -0.09 Units
If you’re looking to get in on tonight’s action, consider joining a new sportsbook and adding bets with any Dodgers’ lefty.
Again, Peralta has struggled against lefties over the last 30 days and throughout the season. You’ll want to take advantage. After all, Peralta has a 4.66 ERA in the playoffs, proving he’s been hitable.
Lines move fast, and other bettors will also add some player props for those Dodgers’ lefties. So get your bets in as soon as possible before the lines change.
Shohei Ohtani hasn’t performed much in the postseason. But he still finished out the regular season strong against righties. Against his last 45 batters, he’s added a .475 ISO and wOBA of .482.
Tonight, he’ll face Peralta, who has allowed a .387 ISO and wOBA of .395 against his last 35 lefties. Peralta has allowed 44% of fly balls and only 28% of ground balls over the last month against lefties.
This is an area where Ohtani can break out. He’s had a high rate of strikeouts, but Peralta isn’t earning a high rate against lefties.
Freeman is another lefty to watch out for tonight. The lefty broke the ice last night with a solo shot. He’s also added a .176 ISO and wOBA of .395 with only 14.6% of strikeouts over the last 30 days against righties.
Freeman has still hit a high rate of ground balls against righties. Still, he’s added a 42.9% hard contact rate and a .308 BABIP against righties in the last month.
He’s a veteran hitter who continues to show up in postseason play. Tonight won’t be any different.
Tommy Edman is a switch-hitting infielder who has added a .200 ISO against righties over the last 30 days. Since Peralta is a righty, Edman will bat left-handed, where he’s hit 29.2% of fly balls and 62.5% of hard contact over the last 30 days.
Ultimately, Peralta has allowed a .143 BABIP to his last 35 lefties. But that should change real soon since he’s allowed a 12% barrel percentage and 60% of hard contact to his last 35 lefties.
He’s also walked over 11% of lefties this season and has only earned 35.8% of ground balls against lefties throughout the entire season. Edman should be able to get the ball in the air. If the ball hits the grass, we’ll hit this prop.
