Both of tonight’s teams are sitting 5th in their respective divisions, with the Maple Leafs having picked up a total of nine points and the Golden Knights have picked up eight thus far this season.
Both teams are on a 2+ game winning streak, with the Maple Leafs rightfully favorites at -170 on the NHL odds. Will the Vegas Golden Knights cash as underdogs?

Las Vegas has now picked up three wins in a row thanks to their 5-4 overtime victory over the Anaheim Ducks last time out. The Knights also won in overtime against the Stars and a 3-1 win over Colorado kicked started their winning streak.
The Knights have don’t little to damage their Stanley Cup chances in the opening games of the season and, in truth, have done well given the number of injuries they’ve suffered thus far this season. Their matchup tonight against Toronto could be a little closer than the odds suggest. The Golden Knights have almost as much pedigree in their few seasons in the NHL as Toronto has in the last 50 years.
The Maple Leafs are such a hot and cold team and it’s the reason they have failed to get far in the Stanley Cup playoffs in recent years. With that being said this season we have seen a similar sort of Maple Leaf set of results.
They scored nine goals in their previous three games, which is a positive bit of news, but sadly they have also conceded ten in the same amount of time. Can the Leafs win three in a row or will the Golden Knights be about to go for their 4th win in a row? Toronto is 14-6 in their last 20 NHL games following a win.

Las Vegas Golden Knights
Toronto Maple Leafs
Moneyline: Surprisingly the Maple Leafs are as low as -170 on the moneyline in this matchup. The Golden Knights can be best backed at +153 with BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review).
Total: The total for this game has opened up at 6.0, which seems a little high here and the under could be the way to go. Currently, the under is priced up at -102, whilst the over is -108.
Puck Line: Toronto on the puck line at -1.5 is coming in at odds of +145 with Intertops (visit our Intertops Review). If you are looking to take Vegas to cover the spread, they can be bet at odds of -165.
Honestly, the odds on las Vegas seem too good to be true here, we really can’t believe that they are such a high set of odds, even if the Maple Leafs are 3-0 against them in Toronto. Las Vegas has proven to us just how strong they are in recent games having fought hard in two overtime matches to pick up the wins even with some key injuries to their roster.
Possibly the Golden Knights are dogs here because they have had two overtime games in a row but for us, we love the fact they have an extra day’s rest on their opponents in this game, and to be honest, we really can’t trust this Maple Leafs’ defense.
The Golden Knights might not have the strongest of attacks in the NHL right now, as they are ranked 22nd in the league in total goals but Toronto’s defense has allowed an average of 3.22 goals per game. It’s going to be a tight game that’s no doubt about that, but for a coin flip we expect +100, maybe +115 at a push, let’s take the Vegas value to cash as an away underdog for tonight’s NHL pick.
NHL Pick: Golden Knights ML (+153) at BetOnline
