Max Verstappen and Red Bull took control of the championship last time out after a decisive victory on the Dutchman’s home track at Zandvoort. However he didn’t gain much on Hamilton as the Englishman finished in 2nd and scored a point for the fastest lap of the race, just three points separate them heading into his nail biter in Monza.
Sunday, September 12, 2021 – Race Time 9:00 AM EDT at Monza
Last time out when we raced at Monza, we see a race winner in Pierre Gasly at odds of +20000 for Alpha Tauri and I think it’s safe to say we won’t see another big odds winner this time around as these situations rarely happen in F1 and we already seen Estaban Ocon win the Hungarian GP this year at similar odds. One lucky sports better won an incredible bet last season as he predicted the podium finishers at BMR’S odds of 166,990 to 1. Although he only staked 20 cents his return was a hefty $39,373.
Gasly got very lucky on the day as three potential race winners retired from the race and Lewis Hamilton received a stop/go penalty. Monza does however have a steady record of at least three drivers not finishing the race and who knows what might happen this Sunday. There has been an average of 3.1 DNF’s (did not finish) across the previous five races held at Monza.
What we are saying is that unlikely as an upset it, Monza seems to be the breeding ground for those upsets as Sebastian Vettel stood on the top step in 2008 with Toro Rosso (now known as Alpha Tauri, coincidence?) Although we couldn’t find Vettel’s exact odds on the day, we know he was at least +8000.

Let’s not forget this weekend’s race involves the new sprint qualifying, which should shake things up a bit. We believe there’s a time and place to chance your arm and go for some big dogs in F1 and this track seems to be it and who better to come good than one of the best drivers on the grid at the moment, Lando Norris. Take that into consideration for your betting picks.
The British driver currently sits 4th in the championship, which is a surprise to many given the fact he is ahead of both Ferrari drivers and Sergio Perez, who is driving the Red Bull like Max Verstappen. Although Norris has had a difficult previous few races, he has picked up three podiums thus far this season and it seems his first win in F1 in getting closer and closer and at odds of +3400 we are going all out on the kid this Sunday at Monza.
McLaren went well here last year as they both finished inside the top 5 (Norris 4th) although most of the major players not finishing the race did help. If we are targeting Norris, I think its best we sprinkle some money on his compatriot Daniel Riccardo also, just in case we end up choosing the wrong McLaren. Let’s have some fun this weekend and take a break from the regular markets as this could be a crazy race and we would rather lose a small amount on big odds than get stung betting bigger amount on higher odds. We will also take both McLaren’s not to classify just in case.
