2025 WNBA Championship Winner
Team | Odds | BetOnline Odds |
---|---|---|
New York Liberty | +225 | |

Las Vegas Aces | +300 | |
Minnesota Lynx | +400 | |
Phoenix Mercury | +900 | |
Los Angeles Sparks | +4000 |
To Win the NBA Championship
New York Liberty (+225)
Right now, the New York Liberty are the top team by the WNBA futures odds to be the champions in 2025. That makes sense because the New York Liberty are the defending champions and they return most of the players that helped them win last year.
The Liberty are led by Sabrina Ionescu, Breanna Stewart, as well as Jonquel Jones. In addition, they added a new guard, Natasha Cloud.
The Liberty deserve the top spot here, but at +225, there is not much value.
Indiana Fever (+250)
The Fever feature one of the most exciting and controversial players in the WNBA, Caitlin Clark.
The Fever are trying to take advantage of Clark’s elite play and added plenty of talent to the roster this offseason, such as:
- DeWanna Bonner
- Sophie Cunningham
- Natasha Howard
I like the Fever a lot, however, I believe the Aces are a better play.
Las Vegas Aces (+300)
The Aces have a good chance to win the title this season. The Aces won the 2023 WNBA championship and feature reigning MVP A’ja Wilson. As well as Wilson, the Aces feature:
- Chelsea Gray
- Kelsey Plum
- Jackie Young
At the current odds, I think the Aces are a better play than the Liberty.

Minnesota Lynx (+400)
The Minnesota Lynx are 4th in the WNBA odds. The Lynx are coming off a trip to the WNBA Finals, where they fell short in overtime to the New York Liberty in the deciding Game 5. That said, they will definitely make a run this season, as they are still led by:
- Napheesa Collier
- Kayla McBride
The Lynx should be considered as your best bet if you do not like the Aces.
Los Angeles Sparks (+4000)
The Sparks had the worst record in the league at 8-32 in 2024. However, one of the Sparks’ problems was injuries, as star player Cameron Brink only played 15 games.
If Brink were able to return to her top form and play most of the games this season, the Sparks would have a chance to make a push. They are an excellent longshot pick.

To Win WNBA MVP
A’ja Wilson
A’ja Wilson is the reigning WNBA MVP and is the rightful favorite to repeat in the award.
The best case that could be made against Wilson would be voter fatigue. Wilson is clearly the best player in the league and the only thing that might stop her is the voters’ reluctance to vote the same person to win the award multiple years in a row. We have seen this in the NBA multiple times, so WNBA voters will not be immune to voter fatigue either.
Last season, Wilson achieved:
- 26.9 points per game.
- 11.9 rebounds per game.Â
- First WNBA player to score over 1,000 points in a single season.
While I think Wilson will deserve the award at the end of the season, she still might not win, so let’s look at some of the other players who could potentially take her crown.
Caitlin Clark
She is taking the women’s basketball world by storm and finished 4th in MVP voting as a rookie. Last season, Clark achieved:
- 19.2 points per game.
- Led the league with an average of 8.4 assists.
- Set the record for having the most assists in a season, 337.
- First rookie to have more than one triple-double in a season.
- Rookie record of 10 assists in the WNBA All-Star Game.
The Indiana Fever made the playoffs last year and the addition of Clark helped them win seven more games than in the previous season. Still, she will have some work to do to catch up to Wilson. However, the popularity of Clark could push her past Wilson, even if she is not the most deserving.
Napheesa Collier
Napheesa Collier is also a strong candidate to win MVP. Last season, she achieved:Â
- 20.4 points per game.Â
- 9.7 rebounds per game.
- 2024 Defensive Player of the Year Award.
- Unrivaled MVP Award.
If Collier can make an increase in her stats while leading the Lynx to a great regular season record, her ability to lead her team to the Finals last year will have to count for something! The Lynx were very close to winning the title last year, and Collier was the main reason.
Napheesa Collier definitely can improve her game and become the WNBA MVP.
