UFC Lightweight Preliminary Card Bout
Saturday, May 21, 2022 – 05:25 PM EDT at UFC Apex
Omar Morales (11-2-0) stems from a decorated mixed martial arts background as his father is one of the most recognized combat sports coaches out in the Venezuelan region.
Kickboxing is his forte, but since moving to America and training with Sanford MMA, Morales has collected those notable attributes that have assisted him with impressive performances inside the UFC octagon versus the likes of Gabriel Benitez (21-7-0) and top-ranked 135lber Giga Chikadze.
Although Morales lost to Giga via unanimous decision, he delivered moments during that fight where he proved his worth amongst the UFC elite.
Uros Medic (7-1-0) is undoubtedly a tough S.O.B, but with such a tender record and a low level of competition, his streak of first-round finishes couldn’t last forever.
Last time out, Medic was exposed by Jalin Turner, who dominated the Croatian in the first round, and I wouldn’t be surprised to witness a similar outing this weekend in Vegas.
Size, experience, fight IQ, and overall ability have to be handed to Omar in this contest.
I understand that Medic’s record positions him as a serious round one finisher, but the level of competition over at Alaska FC was nothing to write home about.
The available UFC odds with Bookmakers Review favor Morales ever so slightly, and I believe we’re receiving some great value on the Sanford MMA striking specialist.
Of course, the fight game can produce unprecedented moments, as we witnessed the biggest underdog on last week's card pull through, but outside of a lucky flying knee or one-punch KO, I simply can't envision Medic delivering a viable path to victory.

UFC Heavyweight Preliminary Card Bout
Jailton Almeida (15-2-0) is looking to become the UFC poster boy for Brazilian fighters at light heavyweight, and he certainly owns the attributes to achieve this goal.
Almeida made his UFC debut earlier this year and dismantled Danilo Marques inside of three minutes, he possesses some of the most potent BJJ skills in the heavier weight classes, and his punching power isn’t too far behind.
Parker Porter (13-6-0) isn’t backing down from a challenge, and with a 3-1 UFC record thus far, he has every reason to believe he can continue surprising the audience.
The heavy slugger has shown great durability since making his promotional debut in 2020.
Still, there are levels to this, and Almeida boasts all of the attributes that could cause Porter some serious issues inside the octagon.
The available UFC odds with Bookmakers Review support Almeida to the fullest extent, he’s this weekend's largest price betting favorite, and I’m not against this price tag.
With that said, nobody is betting -800, and the good news is you don’t have to.
Almeida is one of the rare BJJ black belts who possesses the wrestling offense to put his opponents in submissive positions with ease.
Porter could give Almeida a run for his money early on, but Almeida's agility, speed, and sheer talents will eventually end this fight via submission.
