The women’s strawweight division took center stage on Saturday afternoon, and they did not disappoint! Brazil’s own Marina Rodriguez and the former number one Jiu-Jitsu practitioner in the world, Mackenzie Dern, captured the Fight of the Night honors for their intense five-round battle.
Rodriguez took a unanimous decision through the utilization of her well-versed striking offense. Both women walked home with an extra $50,000, which marked a total of six bonuses obtained from their respective UFC careers.

The main event between Rodriguez and Dern capped off an eventful night for the women competing at UFC in Vegas 39, where rising stars Lupita Godinez and Mariya Agapova cashed in $50k Performance of the Night bonuses.
It was also a Jiu-Jitsu masterclass on behalf of Godinez and Agapova, who won their contests via armbar and rear-naked choke submissions, respectively.
