Originally published on October 26, 2021

The Ultimate Fighting Championship heads to Abu Dhabi for back-to-back pay-per-view events. The UFC fight odds are now available for us to delve into some perfect prop betting picks for UFC 267 – headlined by the light heavyweight championship bout between Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira, live on ESPN.

Khamzat Chimaev vs. Li “The Leech” Jingliang

UFC Welterweight Bout

Saturday, October 30, 2021 – 01:00 PM EDT at the Etihad Arena

Khamzat Chimaev (9-0-0) quickly became one of the UFCs fan favorites for his willingness to fight anywhere, anytime, anyplace.

Upon his arrival to the promotion last year, Chimaev collected his first two victories within the space of ten days to then return to the octagon after eight weeks for another high-level contest versus Gerald Meerschaert.

It’s not difficult to see why Chimaev has gained the hearts of MMA fans. Three stoppage victories earned within ten weeks of arriving at the UFC alongside a quirky personality have dramatically lifted the Russian-born fighters’ stock.

Li Jingliang (18-6-0) will certainly not be fazed by the hype surrounding Chimaev, as the Chinese-born martial artist is already familiar with his position as the underdog.

’The Leech’ cashed as a +240 underdog during his previous bout when delivering Santiago Ponzinibbio a left hook that put his lights out. Seven years of UFC experience and a powerful striking output will present a difficult challenge for any welterweight.

Chimaev vs. Li Jingliang Fight Breakdown

Let’s not kid ourselves, Chimaev is still considerably inexperienced at this level of MMA, and the level of competition he’s faced hasn’t been noteworthy. However, nine professional fighters haven’t survived more than six minutes with the Russian, and his skill set is evidently capable of competing with the most elite.

Chimaev began wrestling at the age of 5; he owns countless trophies and championships within wrestling, sambo, and judo. He has now been training alongside Alexander Gustafsson at the Allstar team in Stockholm for five years.

When watching Neil Magny find success in controlling Jingliang, I find it difficult not to believe that Chimaev can achieve a similar path to victory. Chimaev’s striking isn’t well polished, but his confidence is growing fight-to-fight; I believe the Russian is a special breed with a great chance of reaching the top-five rankings.

UFC 267 Prop Betting Picks & UFC Odds

The available UFC odds with Bookmakers Review favored Chimaev with opening odds of -350. The health complications surrounding his layoff are a concern, but watching his past fights will soon remove those worries.

Jingliang is a solid competitor, but the holes in his wrestling defense are going to allow Chimaev to dictate the pace of this contest and continue his rise to UFC superstardom.

Amanda Ribas vs. Virna Jandiroba

UFC Women’s Strawweight Bout

Saturday, October 30, 2021 - 09:30 AM EDT at the Etihad Arena

Amanda Ribas (10-2-0) owns a wealth of martial arts experience that’s allowed the Brazilian-born competitor to achieve black belts in both Jiu-Jitsu and Judo.

The 28-year-old is undoubtedly a key player in the future of the UFC’s strawweight division, and her 4-1 record since joining the company is evidence of this.

Virna Jandiroba (17-2-0) is yet another well-accomplished Brazilian whose background in BJJ has assisted her MMA career.

There aren’t many women who’ve managed to escape the grips of Jandiroba’s submission finishing ability, and at the age of 33, she’s fighting in the prime of her life.

Amanda Ribas vs. Virna Jandiroba Fight Breakdown

It’s difficult to anticipate which fighter will own the greater Jiu-Jitsu offense; in fact, we should expect an exceptionally even playing field in their BJJ attributes.

With that said, this matchup style will often equal a cancellation of their usual approach. In this case, we should expect the fight to take place on the feet as both ladies possess an equally dangerous grappling offense.

If I’m correct in my expectations, Amanda Ribas’ striking skills are levels above Jandiroba’s, and she should easily sail to a unanimous decision victory.

UFC 267 Prop Betting Picks & UFC Odds

The available UFC odds with Bookmakers Review are slightly leaning with Ribas as the betting favorite, but given Jandiroba’s toughness, I do anticipate that all three rounds will play out.

Ribas to win by decision provides us with more value in a contest where I believe the more proficient striker will have their hand raised.
