The Rangers won their 3rd NHL game in a row last time out in a 4-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers. Unfortunately, NY Rangers' top points scorer, Artemi Panarin is unavailable for this game due to COVID-19 protocols, he has 36 points on the season. NY can also boast the 7th best defense in the league and the 4th best in the Eastern Conference. The team is also coached by the Golden Knights' first and former coach when they joined the league a few years backs.
We are expecting this to be a tight affair with both teams desperate for the win and with just 2 points separating the top 5 in the Eastern Conference, it’s a win the Rangers would love to come from Vegas with.
The Golden Knights are going through a tough run of form at the minute and despite battling many injuries and COVID-19 problems this season and still putting it up to the rest of the league, it seems maybe their luck has run out, and back to back losses isn’t quite a big concern but another loss here to the Rangers on home ice won’t be ideal.
It’s unclear who will be the starting goaltender yet for Vegas with Robin Lehner being questionable at the time of writing. The Golden Knights still remain one of the top teams in the league and a few losses won’t stop this team from making the playoffs. Stone and Pacioretty as well as Martinez and Eichel will miss this game.

New York Rangers
Vegas Golden Knights
Moneyline: Despite back-to-back losses, Vegas is -185 on the moneyline, whilst the road team are +150 at the time of writing.
Total: The total line is set at 6.5 with the overpriced up at +125 with the top-rated sportsbooks and the under is juiced to -175.
Puck Line: The Golden Knights are +165 to cover the -1.5 puck line whilst traveling Rangers are -190 to cover the +1.5 puck line.
This is a difficult game to call, we have a team who are in red hot form both overall and away from home, facing one of the best teams in the league who are on back-to-back losses. The Under 6.5 looks good here but we don’t like laying anything more than -135 max., so it’s a pass for us. However, take a look at the Under 5.5 at the NHL odds board.
Just like the Predators game, we see this is much more of a 50/50, and the NY Rangers are way over proved heading into this road game. Yes, Vegas is dangerous having lost twice in a row and the Rangers are missing Panarin but +150 is a massive set of odds on the Rangers and we are more than prepared to take a loss on them at these odds.
